Do What You Do (Jermaine Jackson song)

"Do What You Do" is a single by American R&B singer Jermaine Jackson, sibling of singers Michael and Janet Jackson and former member of The Jackson 5. It was released as the second single his album, which was called Jermaine Jackson in the US and Dynamite in the UK and other countries.

This was one of Jackson's first releases with Arista Records after a long recording career with Motown Records, first as a member of The Jackson 5, then later as a solo artist. Although Jermaine Jackson never achieved the same level of solo success as sister Janet or brother Michael, "Do What You Do" was one of six top 20 solo hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the singer. The song peaked at No. 13 on the Hot 100, No. 14 on the Billboard R&B chart, and spent three weeks atop the Billboard adult contemporary chart. The song was one of Jackson's biggest hits in the UK, where it reached No. 6 on the UK Singles Chart.

In the ballad, Jackson is requesting that his lover continue with certain enjoyable events they have both experienced in the past: Why don't you do what you do / when you did what you did to me?

"Do What You Do" is the second track and first single released from the album, The New Game, by American band Mudvayne.

"Do What You Do" is their second-most successful single, reaching number two on the U.S. Mainstream Rock chart. Mudvayne announced in an interview on Fuse's No. 1 Countdown that "Do What You Do" will have a video. Along with "A New Game", "Do What You Do" includes a guitar solo; the first since "Fear", from their EP, The Beginning of All Things to End.

Epiphany (Chrisette Michele album)

Epiphany is the second studio album by American R&B and soul singer–songwriter Chrisette Michele, released May 5, 2009 on Def Jam Recordings in the United States. Recording sessions for the album took place during 2008 to 2009. In January 2009, the title track "Epiphany" was released as its lead single.

Epiphany debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart, while selling 83,000 copies in its first week. Upon its release, the album received generally positive reviews from music critics, based on an aggregate score of 71/100 from Metacritic.

Background

Chrisette Michele told Billboard's Mariel Concepcion that her new album would be "more upbeat and youthful". Production for the album was handled by Chuck Harmony, Claude Kelly, Bei Maejor, and Ne-Yo.

Michele says one of her favorite tracks is the piano-based "Blame It on Me", in which she croons, "Blame it on me/Say it's my fault/Say I left you out in the cold with a broken heart/I really don't care/I'm not crying no more/Say I'm a liar, a cheater, say anything that you want/As long as it's over." "On My Own", Michele says, reminds her of her father. "I'm very close to my dad, but recently I've learned how to handle situations on my own, without having him step in for me, and it took a lot of me to be able to do that", she admits.

What You Do (Bastard)

"What You Do (Bastard)" is New Zealand band Stellar*'s second single, and their first single from their debut album Mix. The single includes two remixes of the title track. It reached number 17 on RIANZ.
