DNA

Deoxyribonucleic acid (i/diˈɒksiˌrbnjʊˌklɪk, -ˌklɪk/;DNA) is a molecule that carries most of the genetic instructions used in the development, functioning and reproduction of all known living organisms and many viruses. DNA is a nucleic acid; alongside proteins and carbohydrates, nucleic acids compose the three major macromolecules essential for all known forms of life. Most DNA molecules consist of two biopolymer strands coiled around each other to form a double helix. The two DNA strands are known as polynucleotides since they are composed of simpler units called nucleotides. Each nucleotide is composed of a nitrogen-containing nucleobase—either cytosine (C), guanine (G), adenine (A), or thymine (T)—as well as a monosaccharide sugar called deoxyribose and a phosphate group. The nucleotides are joined to one another in a chain by covalent bonds between the sugar of one nucleotide and the phosphate of the next, resulting in an alternating sugar-phosphate backbone. According to base pairing rules (A with T, and C with G), hydrogen bonds bind the nitrogenous bases of the two separate polynucleotide strands to make double-stranded DNA. The total amount of related DNA base pairs on Earth is estimated at 5.0 x 1037, and weighs 50 billion tonnes. In comparison, the total mass of the biosphere has been estimated to be as much as 4 TtC (trillion tons of carbon).

DNA²

DNA² (Japanese: D・N・A² ~何処かで失くしたあいつのアイツ~ Hepburn: Dī En Ei Tsū: Dokoka de Nakushita Aitsu no Aitsu) is a science fiction manga series written and illustrated by Masakazu Katsura. It was serialized across Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine between 1993 and 1994, spanning a total of five tankōbon volumes.

DNA² was adapted into a 12-episode anime television series which ran on Nippon Television from October 7, 1994 to December 23, 1994. This was followed by a three-episode anime original video animation (OVA) in 1995. Produced by Madhouse and Studio Deen, the anime series was directed by Jun'ichi Sakata, whereas the character designer and animation director for the series was Kumiko Takahashi. DNA² has been broadcast in Japan by Animax, which has also aired the series across its respective networks worldwide, including its English-language networks in Southeast Asia and South Asia. All 15 episodes were licensed in North America by Central Park Media until their closing in 2009. The five volumes and box set are out-of-print. Discotek Media has since re-licensed the series for a DVD release in 2014.

  • Farrah Franklin

Farrah Franklin (born May 3, 1981) is an American singer-songwriter and actress. She is a former member of Destiny's Child who replaced LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett alongside Michelle Williams.

    Recording and movie career

    1999–2000: Destiny's Child

In 1999, Franklin was hired to be an extra in the music video for Destiny's Child's "Bills, Bills, Bills". It was there that she met with group members Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, LeToya Luckett, and LaTavia Roberson. At the time she was in a fledgling singing group called Jane Doe, which was in the process of disbanding.

In December of 1999, Matthew Knowles invited Franklin and Michelle Williams to join Destiny's Child—replacing previous group members LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett without notice. The two were introduced in February 2000 via the music video for "Say My Name". Franklin toured and performed with the group, and also appeared in the music video for "Jumpin', Jumpin'".

    Farrah (band)

Farrah are a British indie rock band. They have released four studio albums since 2001 and toured internationally since their formation. Though less well known in their home country they continue to have considerable success in Japan.

    History

After releasing their debut single "Terry" on the indie Noisebox Records label in the UK they were signed to The Police manager Miles Copeland III's Ark 21 Records for the release of their debut album Moustache. The album was released in the UK, USA, Europe and Japan and saw the band tour the world extensively to support it. When Ark21 shut down operation in the UK, their second album Me Too was released on various independent labels throughout the world.

Farrah have maintained their independent status ever since. Recording at their own South London recording studio, producing their own videos and managing their online presence.

In addition to developing a harder rock sound, Me Too incorporated more diverse elements into their sound while still remaining true to the lyrically quirky 3-minute, harmony-laden, melody-driven power pop sound of Moustache.

    PLAYLIST TIME:

    Just a Little [#]

    by: Danny Vera

Remember the days when it all was just fine
We sat at your house, doing pot and red wine
Now the years have gone by and some of us changed, died
    or left.
But still I like to think of way back then, the best
bunch guys who I call my friends
But I can see the changes everyday
    Just a little bit longer
    Just a little more time
    Just a few hours longer
That'll make me much stronger, and it'll all be just
    fine
The nights that we spent above the pizza store
The parties we had, cops knocking on our door
Everyone laughed and didn't give damn
The life that we lived was of a different kind
Nobody cared how we fucked up our lives
But everyone of us just turned out right!
    Just a little bit stronger
    Just a little more tough
    Just a little less weakness
That will stop my hunger, and I'll be strong enough
    Just a little bit wiser
    Just a little more smart
    Just a little more knowledge
So I can't stand my desire, before it all falls apart
    Just a little bit longer
    Just a little more time
    Just a few hours longer
That'll make me much stronger, and it'll all be just
    fine
    Just a little bit wiser
    Just a little more smart
    Just a little more knowledge
So I can't stand my desire, before it all falls apart
    Just a little bit older
    Just a few wrinkles more
    Just a little more stories
