Primus may refer to:
The Primus of the Scottish Episcopal Church, styled "The Most Reverend the Primus of the Scottish Episcopal Church", is the presiding bishop of the Scottish Episcopal Church. The current primus is the Most Revd David Chillingworth who became primus on 13 June 2009. He was elected at a meeting of an episcopal synod which took place on the final day of the Scottish Episcopal Church General Synod.
The Primus of the Scottish Episcopal Church has the following tasks:
Primus is a living planet and deity-entity in the fictional Transformers universe who fought against the Chaos-Bringer Unicron. The Lord of the Light, Primus is the being who created the Primes to help it defeat Unicron, and the Transformers homeworld Cybertron.
Primus was voted as one of the "coolest toys around" by Boy's Life magazine in November 2006.
According to transformers lore, before the dawn of time, Order and Chaos existed within an extra-dimensional entity known as The One. To explore the fledgling universe, he created the astral being known as Unicron, and then subdivided him, creating his twin, Primus. Both brothers were multiversal singularities, unique in all realities, but where as Unicron could only exist in one universe at a time, moving between them at will, Primus existed simultaneously in all realities at once. It is suggested, in fact, that the two brothers embody the basic concepts of reality—good and evil, order and chaos—and that their continued existence is necessary for the stability of the multiverse.
DMV may refer to:
"DMV" is a song by the rock band Primus. Interscope Records asked Primus to release this song together with its video.
The video was featured in Beavis and Butt-head.
It has been played live on Lollapalooza '93 and some concerts of 2003 Tour de Fromage.
This song is also featured in Animals Should Not Try to Act Like People and in the compilation album They Can't All Be Zingers.
The song failed to chart.
This song features bassist Les Claypool soulfully slapping and tapping his bass. In the video about 40 seconds of the outro were removed. It appears to be about the Department of Motor Vehicles, particularly the frustrations of dealing with waiting times and lines, and seeking relief in the form of marijuana consumption.
The video for "DMV" features live and backstage footage from the 10/1/1993 show at the Greek Theater in Berkeley, CA and clips from a toilet, animation and artwork used for the "Tommy the Cat" video. Due the length of the song the video was cut to 4:29.
I've been to hell. I spell it...I spell it DMV
Anyone that's been there knows precisely what I mean
Stood there and I've waited and choked back the urge to scream
And if I had my druthers I'd screw a chimpanzee-call it pointless
When I need relief I spell it THC
Perhpas you may know vaguely what I mean
I sit back and smoke away huge chunks of memory
As I slowly inflict upon myself a full lobotomy-call it pointless
Barbecues, tea kettles, gobs of axle grease
There comes a time for every man to sail the seas of cheese
Now, life's a bowl of bagel dogs, but there are unpleasantries
Cold toilet seats, dentist chairs and trips to DMV-call it pointless
I've been to hell. I spell it...I spell it DMV
Anyone that's been there knows precisely what I mean
I've stood in line and waited near an hour and fifteen
