Djebel (1937–1958) was a French Thoroughbred racehorse, who won 15 of 22 races during 1939-1942 and was later a leading sire.
Djebel was sired by Tourbillon, a stallion owned by Marcel Boussac, who had won the French Derby and the Prix Lupin, and went on to become a notable sire. Toubillon's dam-sire was the 1914 Derby winner Durbar. Djebel's dam, Loika, was by Gay Crusader and out of Coeur a Coeur. Gay Crusader was the 1917 U.K. Triple Crown winner, and by the influential Bayardo. Coeur a Coeur was by Teddy, whose grandsire was the 1899 English Triple Crown champion Flying Fox. Therefore, Djebel traced back to Bay Ronald twice through his dam (both Bayardo and Teddy's dam-sire were by Bay Ronald). Loika produced seven winners, the greatest of which was Djebel.
In his 22 starts, Djebel won 15, placed second in three, and finished third in one. His wins included the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, the 2,000 Guineas Stakes (GB), Prix des Sablons, Prix Boiard (twice), Prix d'Harcourt (twice), Prix d'Hedouville (twice), Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud, Prix d'Essai, Prix Lagrange, Middle Park Stakes and Gimcrack Stakes. He finished second in the Prix Morny (FR), Grand Prix de St. Cloud (FR), and Prix de Chantilly (FR), and third in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.
Deja Blue
- written by Craig Wiseman & Donny Lowery
Now as she's walking out the door
Sayin' she don't want me no more
As her tires are a squealin'
Lord I get this funny feelin'
That I've been in this position before
A different time another flame
Still it's spooky how it seems the same
CHORUS:
Deja blue
Deja blue
Yeah I'm feelin' pretty certain
That this cryin' and a hurtin'
Is somethin' I've already been through
Oh Lordy here I go again
Tell me will it ever end
Same ol' fool
Nothin' new
Deja blue
Now it started in the second grade
With little blondie what's her name
I toted all her books
And gave her long and gooshy looks
And all she wanted was my brother Jay
That first time nearly done me in
But I've been there a hundred times since then
REPEAT CHORUS
REPEAT CHORUS
Same ol' fool
Nothin' new
