"Dive" won the Dove Award for Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year at the 31st GMA Dove Awards. It was also nominated for Song of the Year at that same event.

Dive is the second studio album released by Japanese singer Maaya Sakamoto. As the first album, Yoko Kanno produced this album as well. Lyrics of the album's songs were written by Sakamoto and Yūho Iwasato, except "Baby Face" and "Heavenly Blue" were co-written with Tim Jensen.

Erik Burg of Beats Per Minute gave the album a positive review, writing "If you’re looking for booming singles and dance-worthy tracks just because most of Tycho’s music is built electronically, you’ve come to the wrong place. But if you’re willing to put in the three quarters of an hour that it takes to finish the album, and you’re able to free your mind of any forgone conclusions or suppositions you have, Dive could easily be your favorite record this year."Allmusic's Jason Lymangrover called Dive "more multidimensional" than Tycho's previous albums.

Ward (LDS Church)

In The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), a ward is the larger of two types of local congregations, the smaller being a branch. A ward is presided over by a bishop, the equivalent of a pastor in many other Christian denominations. As with all church leadership, the bishop is considered lay clergy and as such is not paid. Two counselors serve with the bishop to help with administrative and spiritual duties of the ward and to preside in the absence of the bishop. Together, these three men constitute the bishopric. A branch is presided over by a branch president who may or may not have one or two counselors, depending on the size of the branch.

Historical origin

The term ward originally referred to the political subdivision of some of the municipalities in the Mid-western United States where members of the LDS Church resided, and in particular the political organization of Nauvoo, Illinois in the 1840s. Bishops were assigned duties and responsibility over specific ward boundaries in these cities, and over time individual congregations were defined by these boundaries. After the Mormon Exodus to Utah, this same terminology was preserved in the establishment of communities throughout the western USA. Voting districts of several Utah communities still follow the historical boundaries of their original LDS congregations. Due to the religious connection of this term, traditional Mormon pioneer communities generally do not use the term ward to define voting districts for political purposes.

Ward (electoral subdivision)

A ward is a local authority area, typically used for electoral purposes. Wards are usually named after neighbourhoods, thoroughfares, parishes, landmarks, geographical features and in some cases historical figures connected to the area. It is common in the United States for wards to simply be numbered.

In Australia, Canada, Monaco, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States, and they are an electoral district within a district or municipality, used in local government elections. In the United States, wards are usually subdivided into precincts for polling purposes.

In the Republic of Ireland, urban Wards and rural District Electoral Divisions were renamed Electoral Divisions in 1994. The electoral districts for local authorities are often popularly called "wards". These consist of multiple electoral divisions, and are officially called "local electoral areas".

In the case of a municipal amalgamation, the former cities and towns that make up the new metropolis may be referred to as wards.
