Disk Copy

Disk Copy was the default utility for handling logical volume images in System 7 through Mac OS X 10.2 (usable in System Software 6 as well). In later versions of OS X it has been replaced by DiskImageMounter for mounting the images and Disk Utility for creating them.

File format support

"Disk Copy 4.2" (DC42) is the common name used to refer to disk images of floppy disks created by the 4.2 version of Disk Copy. DART is a variant that supports compression, and was initially handled by the DART (Disk Archive/Retrieval Tool) utility.

Disk Copy 6.0 added support for the New Disk Image Format (NDIF). Versions of Disk Copy in Mac OS X added support for the newer Universal Disk Format (UDIF) image format, introduced with DMG files in OS X.

Although the last official public release of Disk Copy for Mac OS 9 was version 6.3.3, there was to be a version 6.5 that supported OS X's UDIF image format. But because Apple had stopped support for OS 9 already, support for the old OS was eventually removed in favor of OS X. As such the OS 9 version of 6.5 only ever made it to beta 13 before development on it stopped. There was also a developer version 6.4 that 6.5 was based on and had most of the same functionality, but as a developer version it was never released. Although version 6.4 and 6.5 will read DMG images when the system is booted into OS 9, they can only do so if the image is not compressed.

Everytime You Touch Me

"Everytime You Touch Me" is a song by American electronica musician Moby, released as the third single from his album Everything Is Wrong. The vocals of "Everytime You Touch Me" are performed by Rozz Morehead and Kochie Banton, both of whom appear on Moby's previous single, "Feeling So Real". Before the release of the "Everytime You Touch Me" single, a remix competition was held. The winning remix, made by Jude Sebastian, is featured as track three on the single.

Disk storage

Disk storage is a general category of storage mechanisms where data are recorded by various electronic, magnetic, optical, or mechanical changes to a surface layer of one or more rotating disks. A disk drive is a device implementing such a storage mechanism. Notable types are the hard disk drive (HDD) containing a non-removable disk, the floppy disk drive (FDD) and its removable floppy disk, and various optical disc drives and associated optical disc media.

(The spelling disk and disc are used interchangeably except where trademarks preclude one usage, e.g. the Compact Disc logo. The choice of a particular form is frequently historical, as in IBM's usage of the disk form beginning in 1956 with the "IBM 350 disk storage unit").

Background

Audio information was originally recorded by analog methods (see Sound recording and reproduction). Similarly the first video disc used an analog recording method. In the music industry, analog recording has been mostly replaced by digital optical technology where the data are recorded in a digital format with optical information.

Copy (written)

Copy refers to written material, in contrast to photographs or other elements of layout, in a large number of contexts, including magazines, advertising, and books.

In advertising, web marketing and similar fields, copy refers to the output of copywriters, who are employed to write material which encourages consumers to buy goods or services.

In publishing more generally, the term copy refers to the text in books, magazines, and newspapers. In books, it means the text as written by the author, which the copy editor then prepares for typesetting and printing.

In newspapers and magazines, "body copy", the main article or text that writers are responsible for, is contrasted with "display copy", accompanying material such as headlines and captions, which are usually written by copy editors or sub-editors.

Copy (album)

COPY is the debut album by the Japanese electronic artist Mitsuki Aira. It was released on September 8, 2008 as a CD, in two editions, both containing the singles "Colorful Tokyo Sounds No. 9", "China Discotica" and "Darling Wondering Staring". "Galaxy Boy" was used as the ending theme to Aichi Television's program Bonita! Bonita!! and The Dream Car Club of Tamoei Yakushiji. The album reached a peak daily position of number 31 on the Oricon chart, and a peak weekly position of number 48 and sold 3,163 copies.

Limited special price edition

A limited release of the album was produced for a lower price, only containing tracks one through twelve. Track eight, High Bash (Original ver.) (ハイバッシュ (Original ver.)), was replaced with High Bash (Yakenohara ver.) (ハイバッシュ (YAKENOHARA ver.)) in this edition.

Bonus discs

Two external CDs were given away with purchases of either edition of the album for a limited time at certain Tower Records and HMV. Tower Records distributed a bonus disc containing a "Yakenohara Megamix" while HMV distributed a bonus disc containing "L0ne1yBoy L0ne1yGirl", which was later included as a coupling track on the HMV exclusive single, Valentine Step.
