Dishon

Dishon (Hebrew: דִּישׁוֹן) is a moshav in northern Israel, located along the border with Lebanon, between the towns of Kiryat Shmona and Safed. It is part of the Mevo'ot HaHermon Regional Council. Dishon was established in 1953 by Jewish immigrants from Libya, on the land belonging to the depopulated Palestinian village, Dayshum.

Dishon was the son of Anah of Zibeon and the brother of Aholibamah, one of Esau's wives.

The information in Tobit 1.2 suggests that it is Tishbe, the hometown of Elijah, as well as of Tobit himself.

Pygarg

The pygarg (/ˈpaɪgɑːg/) is an animal mentioned in the Bible in Deuteronomy 14:5 as one of the animals permitted for food. The Septuagint translates the Hebrew dishon (דישון) as pygargos in Koiné Greek ("white-rumped", from pyge "buttocks" and argo "white"), and the King James Version takes from there its term pygarg.

Henry Baker Tristram (1867) proposed it to be the Saharan antelope addax and described it as "a large animal, over 3½ feet high at the shoulder, and, with its gently-twisted horns, 2½ feet long. Its colour is pure white, with the exception of a short black mane, and a tinge of tawny on the shoulders and back".

Outside the biblical use, the term was also applied to the Siberian roe deer in the 18th century, whose specific name is pygargus in scientific Latin.

Audition (1999 film)

Audition (オーディション, Ōdishon) is a 1999 Japanese horror film, directed by Takashi Miike and starring Ryo Ishibashi and Eihi Shiina. It is based on a Ryu Murakami novel of the same title, from a screenplay by Daisuke Tengan. The film was screened at the 1999 Vancouver International Film Festival and was released theatrically in Japan on March 3, 2000. Over the years, the film has developed a cult following.

Plot

Shigeharu Aoyama (Ryo Ishibashi), a middle-aged widower of seven years, is urged by his 17-year-old son, Shigehiko (Tetsu Sawaki), to begin dating again. Aoyama's friend Yasuhisa Yoshikawa (Jun Kunimura), a film producer, devises a mock casting audition in which young women audition for the "part" of Aoyama's new wife. Aoyama agrees to the plan and is immediately enchanted by Asami Yamazaki (Eihi Shiina), attracted to her apparent emotional depth.

Yoshikawa develops misgivings about Asami after he is unable to reach any of the references on her résumé, such as a music producer she claimed to work for, who is missing. However, Aoyama is so enthralled by her that he pursues her anyway. She lives in an empty apartment, containing a sack and a phone. For four days after the audition, she sits perfectly still next to the phone waiting for it to ring. When it finally does, she answers pretending that she never expected Aoyama to call. After several dates, she agrees to accompany him to a seaside hotel. Asami reveals that she was abused as a child and shows burn scars on her body. A deeply moved Aoyama pledges his love. In the morning, Asami is nowhere to be found.
