Manuel (horse)

Manuel (1896–1900) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse that won the 1899 Kentucky Derby in what was deemed a very uneventful race. He was foaled in Kentucky and was a bay colt sired by Bob Miles out of the mare Espanita (by Alarm). He is related through his grandsire to 1907 Derby winner Pink Star. Manuel was bred by George James Long at his Louisville stud farm, Bashford Manor Stable.

Long retained ownership of Manuel throughout his two-year-old season, finally selling him in October 1898 to the Morris brothers for $15,000.^[3] A few days after the Derby at Churchill Downs, Manuel injured his leg by stepping in a hole in the track which prompted his withdraw from racing for the rest of the season.

Manuel was sold to Frank Morel (through his agent J. Baker) as a four-year-old in October 1900 for $500 at the Morris Park sale. Manuel only raced for two seasons and did not produce any registered offspring. A 1910 Daily Racing Form article states that he died shortly thereafter as a four-year-old.

Manuel (Fawlty Towers)

Manuel is a fictional character from the BBC sitcom Fawlty Towers. Played by Andrew Sachs, he is an iconic character in British comedy history. He reappeared for a small sketch with John Cleese in We Are Most Amused in November 2008.

Manuel himself appeared on the audio adaptations of Fawlty Towers as a linking narrator, explaining things from his point of view, when the series was released on audio format. The first two episodes released did not feature him at all, as the dialogue was edited and short burst of piano music would indicate a change of scene. However, when the whole series was re-released, they were re-edited with Manuel's linking commentary.

"Disappear" is the 4th single from Hoobastank's second major studio album, The Reason. It was released as a single in early 2005 and it is the last single to be released from The Reason. "Disappear" reached number 24 on the Billboard Modern rock chart. The song also appeared on Now That's What I Call Music! 18, despite it not being a very successful single.

The music video for the song switches between footage from live Hoobastank shows during their 2004 tour (supporting the release of The Reason), and footage of them performing the song at the Utah State Fairgrounds, in Salt Lake City during a local radio station's music festival. The video was directed by Marc Webb.

It is the last music video to feature bassist Markku Lappalainen as he left the band after Hoobastank's 2005 Summer Tour.

I Am... Sasha Fierce

I Am... Sasha Fierce is the third studio album by American recording artist Beyoncé. It was released on November 15, 2008, by Music World Entertainment and Columbia Records. In its initial release, the album was formatted as a dual disc, intending to market Beyoncé's contrasting facets of artistry. The first disc, I Am..., contains slow and midtempo pop and R&B ballads, while the second, Sasha Fierce (named after Beyoncé's on-stage alter ego), focuses on more uptempo beats that blend electropop and Europop genres. In composing the songs' lyrics, Beyoncé worked with many writers, with each session accompanied by live orchestration.

Beyoncé credited both her husband, rapper Jay Z, and jazz singer Etta James for inspiring her to push the limits of her songwriting and artistry. Musically, I Am... drew inspiration from folk and alternative rock, while blending acoustic guitar elements into contemporary ballads. The tracks on the first disc were written and produced by Beyoncé, during collaborative efforts with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, Christopher "Tricky" Stewart, Terius "The-Dream" Nash and Ryan Tedder. Sasha Fierce boasted production from Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins and Sean "The Pen" Garrett. The album received generally lukewarm reviews from critics, many of whom felt that it does not properly differentiate the double-discs' contrasts and goals.
