Skipper Roberts was a doll created by Mattel in 1964 to be Barbie's younger sister, as well as to oppose controversies directed at Barbie. Since Skipper was introduced, she has changed immensely. When she first came out, she was 9.25 inches in height (compared to Barbie's 11.5 inches), and then as newer versions were released she gradually became taller with an older appearance, eventually turning out to be almost as tall as Barbie. At first, Skipper was available with three different hair colors, but is currently only available with her hair colored black and purple. Usually, Skipper dolls had blue eyes.
The doll appeared as a character in several Random House novels and Marvel Comics. A fictional biography was developed for her from these, as well as from the backs of the boxes which held the dolls that were sold. Several celebrity and fantasy dolls were produced at the Skipper size, most recently a pair of twin dolls from the Barbie in the 12 Dancing Princesses line.

Balin was one of the twelve companions of Thorin and Bilbo Baggins on the Quest of Erebor. He wears a scarlet hood. He and his younger brother, Dwalin, were the sons of Fundin, and thus of the royal line of Durin. Many years after the death of Smaug, Balin led an expedition to recolonise Khazad-dûm. Although the colony began well, Balin was slain after only a few years, shot by Orcs as he looked into Kheled-zâram.
Thirty-four years later his tomb and the Book of Mazarbul that told of his expedition and death were discovered by the Fellowship of the Ring.
Balin is portrayed by Ken Stott in Peter Jackson's film version of The Hobbit .

On returning Clara Oswald to London, the Doctor finds that something is draining energy from the TARDIS and they end up in Bristol instead. They find the TARDIS' exterior size has shrunk as a result of the energy drain, and the Doctor sends Clara out to learn more while he tries to stop the drainage. Clara befriends Rigsy, a graffiti artist now performing community service with a small crew. Rigsy informs her that several people have gone missing recently, their disappearances depicted on a mural in a pedestrian tunnel painted by an unknown person. Clara returns to find that the TARDIS has now shrunk so much that the Doctor cannot come out of its door. He passes her his sonic screwdriver, psychic paper, and an earpiece to let her communicate with him, and asks her to carry the TARDIS with her as she rejoins Rigsy, taking on the role of "Doctor Oswald" and adopting several of the Doctor's mannerisms.
