I-F

I-f (also Interr-Ference) is the stage name of Ferenc E. van der Sluijs, a Dutch producer and DJ based in The Hague. He is a former member of the Dutch techno-pioneers Unit Moebius.

Overview

In 1997, he produced the track "Space Invaders Are Smoking Grass" (referencing the video game Space Invaders), which became a huge underground dance hit and is often cited as an early example of electroclash. It introduced "old-fashioned verse-chorus dynamics to burbling electro in a vocodered homage to Atari-era hi-jinks" and is the "record widely credited with catalysing" the electroclash movement.

The album Fucking Consumer was released in 1998 on the Disko B label, followed by The Man From Pack the next year. In 1999 he also made the mixed album Mixed Up In the Hague Vol. 1, which has been cited by many, including Morgan Geist, as being the catalyst that brought renewed interest in Italo disco.

I-f was featured on the seminal 2002 Ghostly International compilation Disco Nouveau. He has also recorded as The Parallax Corporation with Intergalactic Gary. I-f currently runs a record label called Viewlexx. He also ran the internet radio station Cybernetic Broadcasting System (CBS). It was closed down in 2008 but is now one of four channels on Intergalactic FM, which is also operated by I-f.

Music

ÍF Fuglafjørður

Ítróttarfelag Fuglafjarðar, abbreviated to ÍF, is a Faroese football club based in Fuglafjørður. They play their home games at Í Fløtugerði. ÍF's 1979 Faroese championship win is the club's sole to date. It has also won the second tier championship three times.

History

2006, 2007 and 2008

At the end of the 2006 season, the club was relegated from the top league, Formuladeildin. In October 2007 the club was again promoted to the top flight, Formuladeildin. The team had some difficulties this season, not by adjusting to Formuladeildin, but because the first team coach, Jón Simonsen, had to quit his job during the pre-season. Then ÍF hired old legend and Champion of the 1979 team, Abraham Løkin Hansen, to take care of the team until a new coach was hired. Late in April the third coach this season arrived. As the new headcoach of ÍF was another old legend from the late seventees, David R. Jones was hired. Even though the team have had 3 coaches during this season and are newly promoted, they ended at a comfortable 6th place after the first half of the season. After two lost matches in the second half of the 2008 season, ÍF hired coach number 4 that season. The new coach was called Albert Ellefsen and is the former coach at HB Tórshavn. Albert Ellefsen has won the faroese championship 2 times with HB Tórshavn and is also coaching the U19 and U21 national team with Abraham Løkin Hansen. ÍF also used the transfer market during its opening in June and July. First Helgi L. Petersen was brought in from Fram Tórshavn and close to the end of the transfer opening ÍF bought Andy Olsen for an undisclosed fee from NSÍ. ÍF also lost one player during the transfer window opening. Dánjal Pauli Højgaard left to his hometown club in Toftir, B68 Toftir. ÍF finished 7th in their first season back in the top flight.

Dirty talk

Dirty talk or talking dirty is the practice of using graphic word imagery to heighten sexual excitement before and during (or instead of) physical sexual activity. It is commonly a part of foreplay, and can include vivid erotic descriptions, sexual humor, sexual commands and rude words. It may be whispered into a partner's ear, spoken over a telephone, or put into text.

When lovers are apart from one another and physical intimacy is impossible, it can be an important aspect of virtual sex, particularly phone sex and cybersex. Additionally, dirty talk is more sexual in nature than pillow talk and tends to precede rather than follow lovemaking.

Some sex educators advise talking about sex with a partner beforehand to make sex better and safer.

The Marquis de Sade, who fancied himself an expert on matters sexual, states in the introduction to The 120 Days of Sodom, that "among libertines, it is commonly accepted that the most voluptuous sensations are transmitted by the organs of hearing." i.e., dirty talk is the most arousing form of sex.

Dirty Talk (Wynter Gordon song)

"Dirty Talk" is a song by American recording artist Wynter Gordon, taken from her debut studio album, With The Music I Die. It was released in the United States on February 17, 2010. The song was written by Gordon, Michael Caren, Gregory Ferguson, Nicole Morier and Norman White and produced by Jupiter Ace. "Dirty Talk" is a dance-pop song backed by a house beat, inspired by a bedroom fantasy. Gordon has stated that the song is a lyrical product of her and her girlfriends goofing around in the studio.

The song was well-received from critics. It was praised for its naughty lyrics and fun production. "Dirty Talk" topped Billboard's Hot Dance Club Songs. The song also topped the charts in Australia, peaked within the top ten of the charts in the Republic of Ireland and the top thirty of the charts in the United Kingdom. In the latter country, "Dirty Talk" also peaked at number six on the country's dance singles chart and remains a popular anthem in Britain's nightclubs. Its accompanying music video was directed by Armen Djerrahian and premiered on July 19, 2010.

Critical reception

Slant Magazine placed "Dirty Talk" at number 37 on its 100 Greatest Dance Songs, commenting "that the lack of effective sex banter doesn't at all hinder 1982's 'Dirty Talk' is a testament to the wonderfully nonsensical charms of Italo disco. [...] The percolating rhythms, though, were nothing to laugh at—that tubular bassline sounds suspiciously like a 303, and even if it wasn't, 'Dirty Talk' provided more than a few footsteps to house."

Pitchfork Media included the song on The Pitchfork 500: Our Guide to the Greatest Songs from Punk to the Present.

Cover versions

French recording duo Miss Kittin & The Hacker covered "Dirty Talk" for their 1998 EP Champagne, and also included the song as a b-side for their single "1982".

Cultural impact

The song's arrangement was later used in the 1983 song "Blue Monday" by New Order. In 2005, "Dirty Talk" was included on the compilation album Back to Mine: Pet Shop Boys by the Pet Shop Boys. In 2007, "Dirty Talk" was included on the compilation album Back to Mine: Röyksopp by Röyksopp, which charted at number 24 on the Norwegian Albums Chart.Timbaland used an uncredited sample of the song "Dirty Talk" on the song "Bounce" from his album Shock Value.
