Boy (stylized BOY) is a Swiss/German pop duo founded in 2007 by Swiss singer Valeska Steiner and German bassist Sonja Glass. The two met while at a pop-music course at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg in 2005. The band initially played concerts exclusively, before being discovered and signed to Herbert Grönemeyer's label, Grönland Records, in 2011.
Their debut album, Mutual Friends (Gold-certified in Germany), was produced by Philipp Steinke and released in the autumn of 2011. The band sings entirely in English in a style reminiscent of that of Leslie Feist.
In the UK, Mutual Friends was released by Decca in June 2012. The North American release of the album is set for February 2013 on Nettwerk Records.
Boy won the Hamburg Musician Prize HANS in 2011 in the category Hamburgs Newcomer of the Year, and their album Mutual Friends won the 2012 European Border Breakers Award (EBBA).
The duo's song "Little Numbers" was also featured in the Lufthansa Airline's Business Class advertisement in mid-2012. In 2013 the song was at No. 4 in the Japan Hot 100.
Boy is a 1987 compilation album from Swedish pop singer Lena Philipsson.
Edgar Zivanai Tekere (1 April 1937 – 7 June 2011), nicknamed "2 Boy", was a Zimbabwean politician. He was the second and last Secretary General of the Zimbabwe African National Union who organised the party during the Lancaster House talks and served in government before his popularity as a potential rival to Robert Mugabe caused their estrangement.
During the war, Tekere served on the ZANU high command, or Dare reChimurenga. He was detained by the Rhodesian government at Gonakudzingwa.
Edgar Zivanai "2-Boy" (nom de guerre) Tekere was an early ally of Robert Mugabe within the Zimbabwe African National Union (of which he was a founder member in 1964) during the fight for independence and against the Rhodesian Front government of Ian Smith. Mugabe and Tekere, having served eleven and a half years in Hwa-Hwa Penitentiary & Gonakudzingwa State Prison as political prisoners of Ian Smith's government, immediately left upon release and crossed the Eastern Highlands Border in Mutare through the mountains by foot, following the Gairezi river trail to Seguranza military camp in Mozambique, to mastermind and kickstart guerilla warfare, aided by Samora Machel, in 1975. The Bush War or Second Chimurenga raged on. harassment of Tekere's close family members and relatives by the platoon of Rhodesian Front Soldiers, Selous Scouts, Police Special Branch and Central Intelligence Organisation, under the auspices of Ian Smith.
Bliss may refer to:
Bliss is a 1993 album by 12 Rods.
Bliss is small lunar impact crater that is located just to the west of the dark-floored crater Plato. It lies in a region of continental terrain between Mare Imbrium to the south and Mare Frigoris to the north. This crater is bowl-shaped, with a small interior floor at the midpoint and a somewhat eroded outer rim.
In 2000, the IAU named this feature after Nathaniel Bliss, the 4th Astronomer Royal. He was the only remaining Astronomer Royal who had not until then received the honor of a named feature or astronomical body. (This revision was announced by the XXIVth general assembly of the IAU, on August 15, 2000.) This new name for the feature was originally suggested by Patrick Moore.
Note that a bulletin announcing the name of this crater described it as a ghost crater that lies between Plato and Mons Piton to the south. However this was due to a mix-up, and Bliss is actually the crater formerly known as Plato A. The ghost crater between Plato and Mons Piton is sometimes known unofficially as Ancient Newton (not to be confused with the crater Newton).
"Dirty Epic" is a 1994 single by Underworld. The track was originally released in an instrumental form as "Dirty" in 1992, credited to the group's short-lived alias, Lemon Interupt. It was reworked with lyrics for their 1994 album, dubnobasswithmyheadman, and was released as a single in the USA on 18 July 1994.
The original Lemon Interupt mixes "Dirty" and "Dirty Guitar" were included on the "Dirty Epic" single, now credited to Underworld.
All tracks written, mixed and produced by Rick Smith, Karl Hyde and Darren Emerson unless otherwise noted.
Released under the name Lemon Interupt.
Whoa yeah!
She came walking in like a vision, everybody's school boy dream
Ooh yeah, she could be my teacher, ooh yeah, she could be my queen
Me and the boys, we stopped talking, she came walking through
And one by one the subject got around, yeah, got around to you, thank god
I've got no secrets, I've got no clue
And all I really wanna do, is get next to you
You know what the world's about, and I'll be your dirty boy
Well your clothes are made by designers, you only wear the best perfume
You're so cold and chique, yeah, you're so unique
But when it comes to me, don't think that you're immune, no
I've got no answers, I've got no doubt
I know you wanna show me baby, what the world's about
Don't treat me like I broke your toy, and I'll be your dirty boy
(solo)
I've got no secrets, I've got no clue
And all I really wanna do, is get next to you
You know what the world's about, and I'll be your dirty boy
I've got no answers, I've got no doubt
I know you wanna show me babe, what the world's about
Don't treat me like I broke your toy, and I'll be
Be your dirty boy, be your dirty boy, I wanna be your dirty boy, ooh yeah
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be your dirty boy, be your dirty boy, yeah
