Diran Noubar
Diran Noubar (born October 5, 1975) is an American film director of Armenian and Italian descent.
He is father of two kids, Kayane and Antranik Alexanian. Both born in New York.
Born Frédéric Diran Alexanian in Lyon, France, Noubar is the director of
Armenia, A Country under Blockade, a documentary film on the impact of Turkey's blockade of Armenia. The film was featured at the 2005 Myrtle Beach International Film
Festival, as well as at the Golden Apricots, Yerevan's International film festival.
His next film, a documentary about gothic metal music, was released in November 2007 on DVD via Century Media/EMI. It portrays British
band Paradise Lost as pioneers of the genre. The Film enjoyed great success worldwide in various festivals including Swansea Bay (UK), Everglades (South Africa), and Leipzig (Germany) and was premiered at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival.
In 2007 he directed the music video for the song "Baby" from Serj Tankian's solo debut album "Elect the Dead". He also provided a guitar solo for the song "Saving Us" off the same album.
