Freak (online drama)

Freak is a television teen drama format created and produced by production company FMX (part of the FremantleMedia group). The series, which was described as an "edgy, teenage coming-of-age story", featured a cast of fresh, young actors and invited the audience to be part of the creative process by choosing the music, becoming a member of the cast and helping to shape the storyline. The first series was sponsored by Red Bull and Procter & Gamble and was launched on July 20, 2009.

The format was created by Josie Ward.

Synopsis

FREAK follows Lucy, an online gaming addict who dresses clothes she steals from her reluctant step-bro Ant (Sean Bourke) until she begins to realise that her gaming obsession has started to turn her into a boy! Lucy's online mates offer advice on how to become the perfect girl and as Lucy starts to discover who she really is, she finds herself getting attention from indie kid Steve (Jamie Di Spirito) and geeky Dennis (Daniel Ormerod), receiving bad advice from Dennis' cruel fashionista sister Heather (Abi Hardingham) and stepping on the toes of Steve‟s girlfriend Kelly (Aisling Jarret). But does she even like the girl they created? Will the real Lucy please stand up?!

The Freak is a fictional character and Supervillain featured in the Spawn comic book series. Also known as Mr. Kulbiczi, he is a psychopath whose mental illness and delirium was the result of his ex-wife telling him she didn't want children. He was committed to an asylum but later built himself a mansion in the sewers.

The Freak first appeared as a background character in Spawn #33, in which he saved the Violator from drowning. After running away, he later reappeared, apparently being attacked by a gang of thugs. Spawn rescues him and is later convinced by The Freak to help him kill Dr DeLorean and avenge the death of his family. After doing this for him it is discovered that The Freak is in fact insane and that Spawn has been tricked into murdering The Freak's own therapist. The Freak reappears again later with a gang of street thugs who manage to overpower and apparently kill Spawn when they capture him in the Deadzone. The necroplasm he saves from Spawn's crucified body would later cause a murdered bum, Eddie Beckett, to be reborn as The Heap. Spawn's body is retrieved from the Deadzone by Sam Burke and Twitch Williams, which allows Spawn to return to life thanks to bugs and insects in the alley.

Gevurah

Gevurah or geburah (גבורה) is the fifth sephirah in the kabbalistic tree of life, and it is the second of the emotive attributes of the sephirot. It sits below Binah, across from Chesed, and above Hod.

Gevurah is 'the essence of judgment (DIN) and limitation, and corresponds to awe and the element of fire,'

In the Bahir it is written "And who are the Officers? We learned that there are three. Strength (Gevurah) Is the Officer of all the Holy Forms to the left of the Blessed Holy One. He is Gabriel."

Gevurah is associated with the color red.

Description

Gevurah is the fifth of the ten Sefirot, and second of the emotive attributes in Creation, and which corresponds to the second day of creation(Zohar 2:127b). In the Bahir it says "What is the fifth (utterance)? Fifth is the great fire of God, of which it says 'let me see no more of this great fire, lest I die (Deut 18:16). This is the left hand of God".

Gevurah is understood as God's mode of punishing the wicked and judging humanity in general. It is the foundation of stringency, absolute adherence to the letter of the law, and strict meting out of justice. This stands in contrast to Chesed.

Gina Din

Gina Din (born 23 October 1961) is a businesswoman in East Africa, particularly Kenya, specializing in strategic communication and public relations. She worked at Barclays Bank for 14 years. Some of her clients include Safaricom, Kenya Airways, KCB and Kenya Red Cross. Din was born in Nanyuki, Kenya. and attended the London School of Journalism. She was named by the New African magazine as one of 100 Most Influential Africans in business. Din is married to Christopher Kariuki.

Dīn

Dīn (دين, also anglicized as Deen) is a Persian word which is commonly associated with Zoroastrianism and Islam, but it is also used in Sikhism and Arab Christian worship. The term is loosely associated with "religion", but as used in the Qur'an, it means the way of life in which righteous Muslims are obligated to adopt in order to comply with divine law (Quran and sunnah), or Shari'a, and to the divine judgment or recompense to which all humanity must inevitably face without intercessors before God. Thus, although secular Muslims would say that their practical interpretation of Dīn conforms to "religion" in the restricted sense of something that can be carried out in separation from other areas of life, both mainstream and reformist Muslim writers take the word to mean an all-encompassing way of life carried out under the auspices of God's divine purpose as expressed in the Qur'an and hadith. As one notably progressive Muslim writer puts it, far from being a discrete aspect of life carried out in the mosque, "Islam is Dīn, a complete way of life".

Dahae

The Dahae (Latin: Dahae; Ancient Greek: Δάοι, Δάαι, Δαι, Δάσαι Dáoi, Dáai, Dai, Dasai; Sanskrit: Dasa),Daae, Dahas or Dahaeans were a people in ancient Central Asia, a confederation of three tribes: the Parni, Xanthii and Pissuri. They lived in a region on the south-eastern shores of the Caspian Sea (in modern Turkmenistan). The area has consequently been known as Dahestan, Dahistan and Dihistan. Relatively little is known about their way of life. For example, according to A. D. H. Bivar, the capital of "the ancient Dahae (if indeed they possessed one) is quite unknown."

According to most sources, the Dahae polity dissolved before the beginning of the 1st millennium, when some its constituents emigrated to Persia, South Asia and/or other parts of Central Asia. However, Sir Percy Sykes reported an oral tradition suggesting that elements of the Dahae had been absorbed into Turkmen society. "I was informed that the Daz tribe of the Yamut [or Yomut] cherish a legend, according to which they are descended from kings, and among the Yamut Turkoman they are regarded as the noblest section. [...] It is at least possible that these names are derived from the Dahae, but it would be a mistake to press the point too far."
