Dhanush

Venkatesh Prabhu Kasthuri Raja, known by his stage name Dhanush, is an Indian film actor, producer, lyricist, and playback singer best known for his work in Tamil cinema. In 2011, he won the National Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in Aadukalam. The same year, he received international attention with his popular song "Why this Kolaveri Di", which became the first Indian video song to cross 100 million views on YouTube. He has won six Filmfare Awards. In 2015, he received his second National Award for producing the children's film Kaaka Muttai in 2015.

Dhanush's first film was Thulluvadho Ilamai, a 2002 coming-of-age film directed by his father, Kasthuri Raja. Over the next ten years, Dhanush has been featured in over 25 films. He produces films under his production company, Wunderbar Films.

Personal life

Born to Tamil film director and producer Kasthuri Raja, Dhanush entered acting after being pressured by his brother, director Selvaraghavan. Dhanush married Aishwarya, Rajinikanth's daughter, on 18 November 2004. They have two sons who were born in 2006 and 2010. He studied at the Thai Sathiya Matriculation High School.

Dhanush (missile)

Dhanush (Sanskrit: धनुष, "Bow") is a variant of the surface-to-surface/ship-to-ship Prithvi III missile, which has been developed for the Indian Navy. It is capable of carrying both conventional as well as nuclear warheads with pay-load capacity of 500 kg-1000 kg and can strike targets in the range of 350 km. The Missile was test-fired successfully on 5 October 2012, on 23 November 2013, 9 April 2015, and 24 November 2015 from Indian Navy ship INS Subhadra (P51) in the Bay of Bengal off the Orissa coast. The Dhanush missile can be used as an anti-ship weapon as well as for destroying land targets depending on the range The missile gives the Indian Navy the capability to strike enemy targets with great precision.
