Devil

The devil (from Greek: διάβολος or diábolos = slanderer or accuser) is believed in many religions, myths and cultures to be a supernatural entity that is the personification of evil and the archenemy of God and humankind. The nature of the role varies greatly, ranging from being an effective opposite force to the creator god, locked in an eons long struggle for human souls on what may seem even terms (to the point of dualistic ditheism/bitheism), to being a comical figure of fun or an abstract aspect of the individual human condition.

While mainstream Judaism contains no overt concept of a devil, Christianity and Islam have variously regarded the devil as a rebellious fallen angel or jinn that tempts humans to sin, if not committing evil deeds himself. In these religions – particularly during periods of division or external threat – the devil has assumed more of a dualistic status commonly associated with heretics, infidels, and other unbelievers. As such, the devil is seen as an allegory that represents a crisis of faith, individualism, free will, wisdom and enlightenment.

Debil

Debil ("Moronic") is the first full-length studio album by Die Ärzte, released in 1984, following the EPs Zu schön, um wahr zu sein! and Uns geht's prima.... The songs "Paul" and "Zu spät" were released as singles, without being successful initially. However, a live version of "Zu spät" was released as a single from the live album Nach uns die Sintflut in 1989 and became a moderate hit in Germany.

In 1987, the Bundesprüfstelle für jugendgefährdende Medien (Federal Department for Media Harmful to Young Persons) put the songs "Claudia hat 'nen Schäferhund" and "Schlaflied" on the List of Media Harmful to Young People, with the effect that they could not be sold to minors, nor publicly advertised or displayed. This ban was lifted in 2004, which led to the subsequent reissue of the album (see below).

Devil (Super Junior album)

Devil is the overall eighth Korean-language studio album (ninth overall) by South Korean boy band Super Junior, released on July 16, 2015, by S.M. Entertainment. Released as a "special album", the album features 9 members, marking the return of Yesung after his mandatory military service. The album also marks the first album without Shindong and Sungmin, due to mandatory military service.

Background

After announcing that Super Junior returned with special album Devil on July 16 to celebrate the group's 10th anniversary, S.M. Entertainment released a comical trailer, heightening fans' anticipation for the comeback. The agency said, 'Friendship and trust among members along with gratitude toward fans' love are the foundation for the album.'

Production and composition

Producing team The Stereotypes worked with SM's resident composer Kenzie on title song "Devil" for a trendy melody, effectively marking the departure of the group from its usual title track production with another resident SM songwriter-producer Yoo Youngjin, the one who writes for the group's title tracks since debut. The lyrics liken a man madly in love to the disposition of the devil. The performance for "Devil" was created by choreographer Tony Testa and SM's performance director BeatBurger. The Super Junior members also offered their own insights, leading to the creation of a fun, well-woven choreography with simple motions that showcase the group's laidback charms.

Titan (game)

Titan is a fantasy board game for two to six players, designed by Jason B. McAllister and David A. Trampier. It was first published in 1980 by Gorgonstar, a small company created by the designers. Soon afterward, the rights were licensed to Avalon Hill, which made several minor revisions and published the game for many years. Titan went out of print in 1998, when Avalon Hill was sold and ceased operations. A new edition of Titan, with artwork by Kurt Miller and Mike Doyle and produced by Canadian publisher Valley Games became available in late 2008. The Valley Games edition was adapted to the Apple iPad and released on December 21, 2011.

Each player controls an army of mythological creatures such as gargoyles, unicorns, and griffons, led by a single titan. The titan is analogous to the king in chess in that the death of a titan eliminates that player and his entire army from the game. The player controlling the last remaining titan wins the game.

Gameplay

The main game board consists of 96 interlocking hexes, each with a specified terrain type.

Titan (Bova novel)

Titan is a science fiction novel written by Ben Bova as part of the Grand Tour novel series. It directly follows the novel Saturn, in which the space habitat Goddard has finished its two-year journey from Earth, and has settled into the orbit of Saturn. The book won the 2007 John W. Campbell Memorial Award.

Plot

The ten thousand civilians of the space habitat Goddard have now finally begun their lives in the Saturn system, after an exhausting two-year journey that almost plunged the infant colony into an authoritative regime. As the probe "Titan Alpha" lands on the moon's surface, a number of strange electrical problems begin happening aboard the space habitat.

Titan (Marvel Comics)

In the Marvel Universe, Saturn's moon Titan is a fictional location appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. It is depicted as the home of the Titanian Eternals. It first appeared in Iron Man #55 (Feb 1973) and was created by Jim Starlin and Mike Friedrich. The Titanians, also known as Titans, were later retconned as being an offshoot of the Eternals, which had been created separately by Jack Kirby.

Fictional history

The colony of Titanian Eternals was founded about 750,000 years ago in the aftermath of a devastating civil war among the first generation of Earth's Eternals. The Eternals Uranos and Chronos led opposing factions, which clashed in a conflict of ideals over the Eternals' destiny as a people. Chronos' side prevailed, and Uranos and his surviving followers were exiled into space and landed on the planet Uranus. There, they discovered a supply depot guarded by a Kree Sentry. When the Eternals destroyed the Sentry and raided the outpost, the Kree armada came to investigate, thinking Earth’s solar system to be devoid of intelligent life. The armada destroyed the Eternals’ spacecraft, forcing them to crash on the moon Titan, where they hid from the Kree. There, the small group of survivors formed a colony beneath the surface of the moon, employing artificial life systems. These Eternals eventually fell prey to internal strife, and all of them but Sui-San were killed. A'lars, who had gone into voluntary exile, arrived on Titan, and the two Eternals began to repopulate the Titan colony.
