Devil's Due Publishing

Devil's Due Publishing (often abbreviated as DDP) is an independent comic book publisher in the United States. Based in Chicago, Illinois, DDP is best known for its wide selection of genres, including licensed and original creator-owned properties that populate its monthly comic book series and graphic novels.

Though principally a publishing company, DDP has also produced a stage play based on the Hack/Slash comic series, Stagefright, in conjunction with the New Millennium Theatre Company that played at the National Pastime Theater on Broadway, Chicago from September 23 to October 29, 2005.

History

In 1998 Devil's Due Publishing started as both a commercial art studio and a small press comic-book publisher. The company soon shifted its focus to comic books, becoming one of the top ten publishers in North America.

In 2004 Pat Broderick revived Micronauts at Devil's Due, although the title was cancelled after ten issues.

DDP produced an American comic book version of Vampire Hunter D. It was written by Jimmy Palmiotti and titled American Wasteland. Devil's Due also republished Je suis légion by Fabien Nury and John Cassaday as an eight comic book series, I am Legion as part of a larger deal to reprint work with Humanoids Publishing, including titles like The Zombies That Ate The World.

Devil's Due (film)

Devil's Due is a 2014 American found footage supernatural horror film directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, and written by Lindsay Devlin. The film stars Allison Miller, Zach Gilford, and Sam Anderson. The film was released on January 17, 2014.

Plot

A young couple, Zach and Samantha McCall, have recently married and have gone to the Dominican Republic for their honeymoon. During Carnival, the couple meet a fortune teller, who repeats to Sam "they've been waiting", to which they quickly leave. They find themselves lost on an unknown street they do not remember seeing and are offered a lift from a pushy cab driver, who offers to take them to a local bar dotted with strange symbols. The couple reluctantly accepts and after taking various shots, they fall unconscious. Sam is seemingly taken to an underground chamber in the nightclub and is subject to some kind of ritual by an unseen force. The next morning, Zach and Sam wake in their hotel with no memory of the previous night.

Devil's Due (Star Trek: The Next Generation)

"Devil's Due" is the 13th episode of the fourth season of the American science fiction television series Star Trek: The Next Generation, originally aired on February 4, 1991 in broadcast syndication in the United States. Based on an episode written by William Douglas Lansford for the planned Star Trek: Phase II (1978) television series, it was adapted for The Next Generation by Philip Lazebnik and directed by Tom Benko.

Set in the 24th century, the series follows the adventures of the crew of the Starfleet starship USS Enterprise-D. In "Devil's Due", the crew of the Enterprise confront an individual claiming to be Ardra (Marta DuBois), a mythological entity from the planet Ventax II. She claims that the planet, and the orbiting Enterprise, are her legal property due to an agreement signed a thousand years earlier. Together, Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and the crew reveal Ardra to be a con artist, leading to her arrest by the Ventaxian authorities.
