James McDaniel

James McDaniel (born March 25, 1958) is an American stage, film and television actor. He is best known for playing Lt. Arthur Fancy on the television show NYPD Blue. He created the role of Paul in the hit Lincoln center play 6 Degrees of Separation. He also played a police officer in the ill-fated 1990 series Cop Rock, and a close advisor to activist Malcolm X in the 1992 film Malcolm X. He also played Sgt. Jesse Longford in the ABC television series Detroit 1-8-7.

McDaniel won a 1995 Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, NYPD Blue, and won the 2006 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Performer in a Children/Youth/Family Special, "Edge of America". He has also been nominated for two Primetime Emmys for his work on NYPD Blue.

Aisha Hinds

Aisha Hinds (born November 13, 1975) is an American television, stage and film actress.

Life and career

Hinds was born in Brooklyn, New York. She made her way to stardom initially with modern dancing. She began her career on television in 2003, on NYPD Blue. In 2004, she had a recurring role on The Shield as Annie Price, and later guest-starred in Crossing Jordan, Boston Legal, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Stargate SG-1, Cold Case, and Desperate Housewives. Hinds was a series regular in the two short-lived ABC series Invasion from 2005 to 2006, and Detroit 1-8-7 (2010-2011). She had recurring roles on Dollhouse, HawthoRNe and True Blood. In film, Hinds appeared in Mr. Brooks, Madea Goes to Jail, Unstoppable, and Star Trek Into Darkness. On stage, she played the leading role of The Best of Enemies at George Street Playhouse in 2011.

In 2013, Hinds appeared on the CW series, Cult, as the evil Rosalind Sakelik. Right after Cult was canceled, Hinds was cast as a series regular on the CBS television series Under the Dome based on Stephen King's book of the same title. She was bombed to recurring basic after first season. In 2014, she had supporting roles in films If I Stay and Beyond the Lights. Also in that year, she had the recurring role of Chief Investigator Ava Wallace on the CBS police procedural, NCIS: Los Angeles. In 2015, Hinds was cast as regular in the TNT drama pilot, Breed.

Jon Michael Hill

Jon Michael Hill is an American actor. He is best known for his role as Detective Damon Washington in the ABC police drama, Detroit 1-8-7 and currently co-stars as Detective Marcus Bell in the CBS series Elementary.

Career

Hill was born in Waukegan, Illinois. During his high school years, he played football and the saxophone before focusing on pursuing an acting career, attending a summer drama program at Northwestern University. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. While at the university, he appeared in stage productions of King Lear, Six Degrees of Separation and Ain't Misbehavin'.

In 2009, Hill was nominated for Joseph Jefferson Award for Actor in a Supporting Role in a Play for "The Tempest" at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago, Illinois.

In 2010, Hill was nominated for a Tony Award as Male Supporting Actor in Superior Donuts opposite Michael McKean. In the same year, he began his role as Detective Damon Washington in the ABC police drama Detroit 1-8-7. He also played the role of Puck in the Shakespeare in the Park production of A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Detroit 1-8-7

Detroit 1-8-7 was an American police procedural drama series about the Detroit Police Department's leading homicide unit, created by Jason Richman for ABC. It featured an ensemble cast of actors including Michael Imperioli and James McDaniel. The series originally ran on ABC from September 21, 2010 to March 20, 2011. It was filmed on location in Detroit, except for the pilot, which was filmed in Atlanta.

The show's executive producer, David Zabel stated, "This is a crime show but we will explore various nooks and crannies in the communities and within that context there's a lot of opportunity to see what's positive in the city and see what's heroic about the people fighting for what’s best for the city of Detroit."

The 1-8-7 of the title is a specific reference to the California Penal Code designation for homicide, which has become a slang term for murder. The Michigan Compiled Laws designation for the various forms of homicide begin at 750.

On May 13, 2011, Detroit 1-8-7 was canceled by ABC. With the cancellation, series creator Jason Richman has said he is pursuing options for the series to continue on cable television, also stating that chances for the move are "slim".

Michael Imperioli

James Michael Imperioli (born March 26, 1966) is an American actor and director best known for his role as Christopher Moltisanti on The Sopranos, for which he won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2004. He also appeared in the TV drama series Law & Order as NYPD Detective Nick Falco. Imperioli spent the 2008-2009 television season as Detective Ray Carling in the US version of Life on Mars. He was starring as Detective Louis Fitch in the ABC police drama Detroit 1-8-7 until its cancellation. He wrote and directed his first feature film, The Hungry Ghosts, in 2008.

Early life

Imperioli, an Italian American, was born in Mount Vernon, New York, the son of Dan Imperioli, a bus driver and amateur actor. In his early childhood he attended Lincoln School in Mount Vernon. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Yonkers, New York in 1983.

Career

Imperioli has been nominated for two Golden Globe Awards as well as for five Emmy Awards for his work as Christopher Moltisanti on The Sopranos; he won one Emmy, for the show's fifth season in 2004.
