Destructoid is a Webby Award-winning independent video game-focused blog that was founded in March 2006 by Yanier Gonzalez. It is part of the ModernMethod network. Since 2008, Destructoid has organized annual charities in conjunction with their gaming activity, the first ever charity was an organized gaming marathon that raised money for children with cancer.
Mr. Destructoid, the mascot for the organization, has appeared in various video games starting with Bomberman Live in 2007.
Destructoid was owned by Yanier Gonzalez so that he could attend the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in 2006. After initially being rejected, Gonzalez began writing original editorials and drawing cartoons which were picked up by established gaming blogs like Joystiq and Kotaku. In 2007 the site relaunched with user blogs, forums, and a team of contributors.
After E3, Gonzalez appeared at the press conference dressed as Mr. Destructoid (Destructoid's robot mascot, shown on logos and promotional material) to hand out promotional flyers. Gonzalez was the first to break the news of Jack Thompson's disbarment.
(Verse)
Again, why can’t we start again?
Feels like I’ve lost my best friend
I stare into your eyes but they’re so empty.
Pretend, why can’t we just pretend?
There’s still a chance for us to mend
The broken parts that you keep trying to forget
(Pre-Chorus)
Cause I, I try to find how to live again
But can’t bring myself to forgive again
But now, I know, I’m not the one to blame
(Chorus)
So tell me how you could be so dead to me?
You don’t even shout or scream, smile or speak
You won’t even look at me, ‘cause you don’t feel anything.
How could you be so dead to me?
I would bleed, just so I could hear you breathe and make you see
Just how much you mean to me, but you don’t feel anything, anymore
(Verse)
Again, don’t say that nothing’s wrong
Cause I’m not letting go of us
But I just can’t hold on to what we have become
(Pre-Chorus)
Cause I, I try to find how to live again
But can’t bring myself to forgive again
But now, I know, I’m not the one to blame
(Chorus)
So tell me how you could be so dead to me?
You don’t even shout or scream, smile or speak
You won’t even look at me, ‘cause you don’t feel anything.
How could you be so dead to me?
I would bleed, just so I could hear you breathe and make you see
Just how much you mean to me, but you don’t feel anything, anymore
(Bridge)
I close my eyes and I still see us like before
So why won’t you try to love me anymore?
So tell me how you could be so dead to me?
You don’t even shout or scream, smile or speak
You won’t even look at me, ‘cause you don’t feel anything
(Chorus)
So tell me how you could be so dead to me?
You don’t even shout or scream, smile or speak
You won’t even look at me, ‘cause you don’t feel anything.
How could you be so dead to me?
I would bleed, just so I could hear you breathe and make you see
