The Dead (American Horror Story)

"The Dead" is the seventh episode of the third season of the anthology television series American Horror Story, which premiered on November 20, 2013, on the cable network FX. In this episode, Queenie (Gabourey Sidibe) questions her place in the Coven; Fiona (Jessica Lange) takes advantage of a love affair with the Axeman (Danny Huston); and Cordelia (Sarah Paulson) makes a fateful decision about her mother. Angela Bassett, Gabourey Sidibe and Danny Huston guest star as Marie Laveau, Queenie and The Axeman. This episode is rated TV-MA (LSV).

Plot

In a flashback to a tattoo parlor, Kyle (Evan Peters) praises the band Toto while his frat brothers (P. J. Boudousqué and Gavin Stenhouse) get tattoos. He explains his future plans to be an engineer.

In the present day, a chained Kyle examines his body and finds tattoos from his brethren. Zoe (Taissa Farmiga) observes him, a gun hidden behind her back. Zoe apologizes to Kyle, trying to understand the suffering her ability has inflicted upon him. He acquires the gun and nearly shoots himself in the head.

The Dead (poem)

The Dead is the name of two poems by Rupert Brooke, parts III and IV of his collection 1914.

1914

Brooke wrote the five poems that were published in 1914 in the autumn after the outbreak of the First World War when he enlisted in the Royal Naval Division. Also in this collection is 'The Soldier', one of Brooke's most famous poems, though 'The Dead' (IV) was one of his personal favourites. The poems were published in New Numbers before being published in 1914. Brooke published five poems for this collection: I: 'Peace', II: 'Safety', III: 'The Dead', IV: 'The Dead', V: 'The Soldier'.

Living (1950s TV series)

Living was a Canadian informational television series which aired on CBC Television from 1954 to 1955.

Premise

Elaine Grand of Tabloid hosted this series on topics geared towards women such as child rearing, gardening and homemaking. Various subjects were covered by interviews with experts such as cooking with Eristella Langdon, crafts with Peter Whittall (who later hosted Mr. Fixit), design with John Hall, fashion with Iona Monahan, family medical topics with physician S.R. Laycock and gardening with Lois Lister. The show also covered more serious topics such as senior citizens concerns, adoption and drinking water fluoridation.

Scheduling

This half-hour series was broadcast at 7:30 p.m. on various selected weeknights from 3 May 1954 until 1 July 1955. The closure of Living coincided with Grand's departure for television projects in the United Kingdom such as Lucky Dip and Sharp at Four.

Labyrinth (game)

Labyrinth is a game of physical skill consisting of a box with a maze on top with holes, and a steel marble. The object of the game is to try to tilt the playfield to guide the marble to the end of the maze, without letting it fall into any of the holes. Some versions of the game feature a suspended maze surface that rotates on two axes, each of which is controlled by a knob. Small handheld versions of the game are sold, with the box being completely closed with a transparent cover on top.

The game was developed by BRIO in Sweden and first released there in 1946. It was introduced to the United States by BRIO around 1950. Similar games are offered in the US by a number of companies, due to it never being properly copyrighted there (according to one such company).

Labyrinth (Blutengel album)

Labyrinth is the fifth studio album from German futurepop band Blutengel. It entered German Top 50 Albums Chart at 36 for a week. The album spawned a popular single, titled "Lucifer." It is also with Ulrike Goldmann, and not Constance Rudert. Lucifer was released as 2 cd's, entitled Purgatory and Blaze.
