Deer Creek (Mississippi)

Deer Creek (also Issaquena Creek or Lower Deer Creek) is a creek in the U.S. state of Mississippi. Its source is Lake Bolivar, in Scott, Bolivar County, Mississippi.

As Deer Creek flows south through the Mississippi Delta, it passes through the following counties: Bolivar, Washington, Sharkey, Issaquena, and Warren; and through the following communities: Metcalfe, Stoneville, Leland, Burdett, Arcola, Hollandale, Panther Burn, Nitta Yuma, Anguilla, Rolling Fork, Cary, Onward, and Valley Park.

The Deer Creek watershed is connected to the Big Sunflower River via the Rolling Fork Creek, a connection that occurs only at high water stages and can flow either way.

Deer Creek is a large stream in Northern California that flows through Tehama County, California. It is an eastside tributary of the Sacramento River, draining 134 square miles (350 km²). The creek flows roughly southwest for most of its 68.8-mile (110.7 km) length. Its headwaters are in Lassen National Forest at an elevation of 7,320 feet (2,230 m) on Butt Mountain in the Cascade Range, several miles west of Lake Almanor. The creek's upper reaches are through meadows and dense forests, then it flows through a steep rock canyon and into Sacramento Valley. About 11 miles (18 km) after entering the valley, it joins the Sacramento River at an elevation of only 180 feet (55 m), about 7 miles (11 km) south-southeast of the small city of Tehama, California.

The creek has four diversions, all occur after the stream flows into the Sacramento Valley. Three use diversion dams and one uses a ditch. There are no storage dams on the creek. Except for the diversions, Deer Creek is still relatively natural. This is probably because the upper two-thirds of the creek flow through protected land in the Lassen National Forest.

Arizona

Arizona (ⁱ/ɛrɪˈzoʊnə/; /ærɪˈzoʊnə/) (Navajo: Hoozdo Hahoodzo; O'odham: Alĭ ṣonak) is a state in the southwestern region of the United States. It is also part of the Western United States and of the Mountain West states. It is the sixth largest and the 14th most populous of the 50 states. Its capital and largest city is Phoenix. Arizona is one of the Four Corners states. It has borders with New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, California, and Mexico, and one point in common with the southwestern corner of Colorado. Arizona's border with Mexico is 389 miles (626 km) long, on the northern border of the Mexican states of Sonora and Baja California.

Arizona is the 48th state and last of the contiguous states to be admitted to the Union, achieving statehood on February 14, 1912. It was previously part of the territory of Alta California in New Spain before being passed down to independent Mexico and later ceded to the United States after the Mexican–American War. The southernmost portion of the state was acquired in 1853 through the Gadsden Purchase.

The Arizona Department (1863−1865) was a department of the Second Mexican Empire, located in the present day state of Sonora in Northwestern Mexico.

It was directly south of the U.S. Arizona Territory, the present day state of Arizona.

Arizona (1913 film)

Arizona was a 1913 silent film western feature directed by Augustus Thomas based on his famous play Arizona. It is one of the first feature films made in the United States, alongside Cleopatra and Richard III. Cyril Scott plays the lead Lt. Denton.

This film is now lost.
