The members were Joel Edwards and Matt Schwartz. Producer and songwriter Schwartz worked with Arthur Baker, Mica Paris, JTQ and Massive Attack prior to Deepest Blue. He collaborated with Massive Attack on their album Mezzanine, helping to co-write "Dissolved Girl" which featured in the film, The Matrix. After being signed to Warner Chappell, fellow producer and singer songwriter Edwards went on to work with Ed Case, Planet Funk, Chicane, M Factor, Skin, and Melanie C.
The duo's first single, "Deepest Blue" was released in 2003. It peaked at #7 in the UK Singles Chart, their highest chart entry.[1] Their second single "Give It Away" reached #9 in the UK chart in early 2004, and #2 in the airplay chart. Their third release, "Is it a Sin?", reached the Top 30 in May 2004.[1]
Their fourth single, "Shooting Star", released in August 2004 peaked at #57 in the UK chart, however it was also used as the backing music for Sky Sports News between 2004 and 2007. Deepest Blue's debut album, Late September, reached #22 in the UK Albums Chart.[1] The group sold 70,000 albums, earning them a silver disc.[citation needed]
After a break to work on alternative projects the group reformed in 2006. They released "Miracle" on Destined Records in 2008, and reached #1 in the UK Club Chart.
The group split up in 2010.

"Deepest Blue" is the debut single by British house duo Deepest Blue. It was originally written by Joel Edwards and produced by Anthony Mein
After the first version of the song did not gain any interest, it was taken to Matt Schwartz for new production, and he wrote a new backing track and chorus in the studio. Mein did not appear in the final act line up as he had moved to Thailand and was not in the studio when the record was re-done. Released in July 2003, the single was a success on the club scene as well as reaching number seven on the UK Singles Chart.
If loneliness is stealing,
Then my heart goes out to you.
I got nothing left to lose.
What's the point of trying?
I gave my world but u weren't move,
I can't believe u took it all.
I'm giving up on you,
For all those things u put me thru.
Like petals on the floor,
Crashed my world and faked it all.
And you should know just what to do,
I hope that time heals those that fall.
I can't believe,
This can't be true.
Why can't you see we've got too much to lose?
A broken dream,
A broken(?) you.
Cause nothing else will mean the same for you.
You say i must be dreaming,
I won't be taken like a fool.
You just can't rearrange the rules.
Say that i hadn't been there.
And all the lies you told before
See the cracks upon the wall.
I'm giving up on you,
For all those things u put me thru.
Like petals on the floor,
Crashed my world and faked it all.
And you should know just what to do,
I hope that time heals those that fall.
I can't believe,
This can't be true.
Why can't you see we've got too much to lose?
A broken dream,
It's rather new?
Cause nothing else will mean the same for you.
I used think my world is home,
And now my world is going on,
All alone, so alone,
The pain will last forever.
I used think my world is home,
And now my world is going on,
All alone, so alone,
The pain will last forever.
I can't believe,
This can't be true.
Why can't you see we've got too much to lose?
A broken dream,
It's rather new?
