Deep (Niacin album)

Deep is the third studio album from the jazz rock fusion trio Niacin, released in March 2000.

The album is heavily loaded with Billy Sheehan's powerful bass solos and features contributions from guest musicians Glenn Hughes on vocals and Steve Lukather on guitar.

Deep (Peter Murphy album)

Deep is the third solo studio album by English musician Peter Murphy. Produced by Simon Rogers, the album was released on 16 January 1990 through RCA and Beggars Banquet Records and features contributions from Murphy's backing band, The Hundred Men.

The album spawned three singles: "The Line Between the Devil's Teeth (And That Which Cannot Be Repeat)", "Cuts You Up" and "A Strange Kind of Love". The track "Cuts You Up" became a modern rock hit in 1990, spending seven weeks at the top of the U.S. charts and crossing over to Billboard Hot 100, where it peaked at number 55. The other singles also charted on Modern Rock Tracks chart, peaking at number 18 and 21, respectively.

Critical reception

Ned Raggett of Allmusic praised the album, stating that "Deep showed Murphy balancing mass appeal and his own distinct art with perfection." He also wrote: " Murphy simply sounds like he's having the time of his life, singing both for the sheer joy of it and for the dramatic power of his commanding voice."

Chevy Woods

Kevin Woods (born May 13, 1981), better known by the stage name Chevy Woods, is an American rapper from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Throughout his career he has been heavily affiliated with rapper Wiz Khalifa and his Taylor Gang record label, also serving as Khalifa's usual hypeman on tour. His first major appearance was on Wiz Khalifa's song "Taylor Gang". Since then he has released various mixtapes such as The Cookout with Khalifa and the Gangland series.

Chevy Woods first began rapping as a child, saying he and his homies would "take instrumentals and rap over it playin’ around." After graduating high school, he attended Robert Morris University in Pennsylvania, where he began getting passionate about rapping. Woods said it became serious at a point, when he "met this dude who had his mixtapes pressed up and ready to go, passing them out." Woods told him "I wanna get down with that." Then he just started writing, "just doin' it straight paper, straight rappin'" under the name Kev Tha Hustla.

Mother (Blondie song)

"Mother" is the lead single from Blondie's ninth studio album Panic of Girls and was written by Kato Khandwala, Ben Phillips (Guitarist for The Pretty Reckless) and the band's lead singer Deborah Harry. It was released in the United Kingdom on May 22, 2011 on all major online platforms. It is the first single release from the band since "Good Boys" in 2003.

Background

The song was first performed in 2010 along with several other tracks from Panic of Girls during the band's Australian tour, as well as during festival appearances in the UK.

Release

On December 5, 2010 "Mother" was made available as a free download from the official Blondie website. The track was later remixed with a different vocal take for the album and single release. The track was played for the first time on March 17, 2011 on BBC Radio 2's The Ken Bruce Show. On Amazon.co.uk an explicit version was released alongside the regular one.

Artwork

The cover artwork for "Mother" was revealed on May 5, 2011. It displays a band picture digitally manipulated to resemble a Chris Berens painting, like the artwork for its parent album. Elements of the Panic of Girls cover art are used. Also the text is inspired by the original writing by Berens.

Mother is a creative agency with offices in London, New York and Buenos Aires. Mother is one of UK’s largest independent advertising agencies with a reputation of being one of the cooler agencies in the world.

History

Founded around a London kitchen table in 1996 by Mark Waites, Stef Calcraft, Libby Brockhoff, and Robert Saville. Mother has over 400 employees in three continents after Mother New York was founded in 2003, and Madre, based in Buenos Aires launched in 2005.

The agency is known for advertising campaigns from the early Levi’s Odyssey spoof for Lilt, its celebrity-fronted "Goldspot" cinema adverts for Orange, "Here Come The Girls" for Boots and the PG Tips campaign featuring Al and Monkey. The agency has a reputation for campaigns beyond traditional advertising having produced a feature length film for Eurostar Somers Town, a comedy gala for Amnesty International to celebrate its 50th anniversary and a live fashion spectacular for Target.

Mother has pioneered a creative culture where all employees work directly with clients, including the creative teams. In changing to a corporate employee-valued culture, Mother included open work spaces, casual dress, "self-improvement bonuses", birthdays off and prompt recognition and rewards for good work. Focusing on employee needs generated more awareness of customer needs and services leading to both customer and talent retention. Between 2002 to 2005 revenue tripled. Mother (Danzig song)

"Mother" is a song by American heavy metal band Danzig. It was originally released in August 1988 as the lead single from their debut album, Danzig.

In 1993–1994, almost six years after its original release, a remixed version of the song titled "Mother '93" became a hit on radio and earned Buzz Bin rotation on MTV after a music video incorporating live footage was created to promote the band's new EP, Thrall: Demonsweatlive. During this time the single was reissued by American Recordings, with the remix title updated to "Mother '94" on later versions.

"Mother" remains Danzig's highest charting single. It peaked at number 17 on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and 43 on the Billboard Hot 100. In the UK, the song peaked at number 62 on the singles chart.

Writing and recording

Following the success of "Mother", Glenn Danzig recalled writing the song: “I remember calling Rick Rubin in the middle of the night and telling him that I wrote an incredible song—probably the best song I'd ever written. It was the song I always wanted to write. The first time we played it, people went crazy. But I never wrote that song to make it a hit—I never wrote that way, and I still don't. I write songs so that they say something and do something, and if people like them, great—and if they don't, they don't.”
