Deathcore is a fusion music genre that combines elements of death metal with elements of metalcore or hardcore punk, or both.[1][2][3][4][5] It is defined by an "excessive" use of death metal riffs, blast beats and use of hardcore punk breakdowns.[6][7] Deathcore seems to have most prominence within the southwestern United States, especially Arizona and inland southern California (most notably the Coachella Valley), which are home to many notable bands and various festivals.[8][9][10][11]

Traditional growls and screaming are common,[6] while clean vocals are very rare and only present in certain occasions of select songs. Deathcore is defined by breakdowns, blast beats and death metal riffs.[6] Bands also incorporate guitar solos and melodic riffs similar to those in metalcore.[12] Like in other extreme metal genres, deathcore guitarists down tune their guitars to give their music a heavier sound, most play in drop B or drop A tuning.
The term deathcore originated in the mid 1990s; in 1996, Nick Terry of Terrorizer wrote: "We're probably going to settle on the term Deathcore to describe the likes of Earth Crisis (as well as the more NYHC-ish but still as Deathly Merauder)."[13]
Decibel magazine stated about New York-based death metal group Suffocation: "One of Suffocation’s trademarks, breakdowns, has spawned an entire metal subgenre: deathcore."[14]

If I could paint how I feel,
I'd draw bullseye on your forehead
my anger is not misdirected unless it somehow misses you
time spent on hate, is time gone to waste,
I watch you point and click your life away
so cast the stones that I'll gladly catch
and I'll throw them right f***ing back, I stand behind the things I say,
you type the words you won't say to my face
time spent on hate, is time gone to waste,
I watch you point and click your life away
it seems you've let me go again,
just like the day you let me in,
the best of intentions,
you were never mine to begin, begin with
so step away from the f***ing screen,
see a world outside your scene,
