Dead or Alive 2

Dead or Alive 2 (Japanese: デッドオアアライブ2, Hepburn: Deddo Oa Araibu 2, abbreviated as DOA 2) is a fighting game in the Dead or Alive series. It debuted in arcades in 1999 and was later ported for the Dreamcast and PlayStation 2 in 2000. It had also several enhanced editions and was remade for the Xbox as part of Dead or Alive Ultimate. Two PlayStation 2 versions of Dead or Alive 2 exist, one released only in Japan, titled Dead or Alive 2, and an updated version, titled Dead or Alive 2 Hardcore.

Gameplay

The gameplay of DOA2, and all subsequent Dead or Alive games, borrows heavily from the Virtua Fighter series, but makes some key changes that drastically changes the way Dead or Alive is played in comparison to Virtua Fighter.

In DOA2, the basis of the entire fighting system is the circular relationship between three types of moves: holds, throws, and blows.The other defining feature of DOA2, aside from holds/throws/blows, is its stun system. In DOA2 many attacks upon hitting will inflict a stun on the opponent. While stunned, the opponent cannot attack, and cannot guard, but they can hold. If the attacker lands a non-knockdown, non-launching attack while the opponent is stunned, the opponent will be re-stunned in a new way, depending on what attack was landed. A major difference between DOA2 and other fighters is in the safety and non-punishability of attacks, both upon hitting and upon being blocked. Most blows in DOA2 can be punished on hit and block by each character's faster throws, making blow-based offense very risky. In addition to the normal rules of juggling, each character also fits into a specific weight category, which affects how the character responds to being launched and being juggled.

Dead or Alive (DEAD OR ALIVE:犯罪者, Deddo oa araibu: Hanzaisha), abbreviated as DOA (Dii ō ei), is a 1999 Japanese yakuza action film directed by Takashi Miike. It stars Riki Takeuchi, as the Chinese Triad boss and former yakuza Ryūichi, and Show Aikawa, as the Japanese cop Detective Jojima, and focuses on their meeting and conflict. It is the first in a three-part series, followed by Dead or Alive 2: Birds in 2000 and Dead or Alive: Final in 2002.

Synopsis

Ryūichi and his small gang of triads vie for control of the Japanese underworld in a crime-ridden Shinjuku quarter, while Detective Jojima tries to bring it down. Jojima attempts to start a gang war between the Triad and Yakuza. Ryūichi and Jojima meet in a chaotic showdown.

Dead or Alive (Japanese: デッドオアアライブ, Hepburn: Deddo Oa Araibu) is a 1996 fighting game by Tecmo and the first entry in Team Ninja's long-running Dead or Alive series. It was released first in arcades, followed by home ports for the Sega Saturn in Japan, and later for the Sony PlayStation in all regions.

Gameplay

The gameplay of Dead or Alive was unique at the time of its debut because it featured different choices in gameplay than other 3D fighting games.

Its most defining features were its speed and countering system. Dead or Alive put an emphasis on speed, and relied more on simplistic commands and reaction time. Furthermore, its countering system was the first in the fighting genre to utilize different commands that corresponded to each type of attack. There are two kinds of holds, an Offensive Hold (OH) and a Defensive Hold (DH). The latter are executed by holding back or forward on the directional pad along with the guard input to either force away or counter-damage an opponent.

Alive 2

Alive 2 is the third full-length live album and second full-length live DVD from the band Anthrax. It features the reunion of their lineup from the Among the Living era, including then-former vocalist Joey Belladonna and former guitarist Dan Spitz. The songs included on the disc are taken from Fistful of Metal, their very first release, up until 1990's Persistence of Time, spanning numerous personal changes.

Unlike the band's previous live release, Music of Mass Destruction, the CD and DVD versions of Alive 2 are sold separately. The CD is referred to as Alive 2: The Music and the DVD is referred to as Alive 2: The DVD.

This album would be the last non-compilation release featuring Dan Spitz, who left the band following the end of Anthrax's reunion tour.
