Dazzle (song)

"Dazzle" is a song by English post-punk band Siouxsie and the Banshees. It was released in 1984 by record label Polydor as the second single from their sixth studio album, Hyæna.

Content

The song begins with a gradual fade-in of an orchestral string section and progresses to a drum-driven, majestic anthem. The lyrics "swallowing diamonds/A cutting throat" were derived from the final scene of Marathon Man where Laurence Olivier puts diamonds in his mouth. Sioux's vocals are accentuated by expansive reverb effects.

The string section piece that opens the track was actually called "Baby Piano" (a rough piano demo and the finished string section version were both included as bonus tracks on the 2009 reissue of Hyæna).

Release

"Dazzle" was released on 25 May 1984 by record label Polydor as the second single from the band's sixth studio album, Hyæna. It climbed to number 33 on the UK Singles Chart and was Siouxsie and the Banshees' eleventh top 40 UK hit.

Lee Soo-Young (born Lee Ji Yeon, April 12, 1979 in Seoul, South Korea) is a Korean ballad singer. She made her debut in 1999 in Korea with the hit “I Believe.” Currently, she has nine released albums and five mini-albums (labeled as Holiday in Lombok, Classic, As Time Goes By, An Autumn Day, Once) and sang six OSTs. She’s recognized in Korea for her powerful voice and although she rarely appears in her own music videos, she has earned a lot of popularity. Dazzle (manga)

Dazzle (破天荒遊戯, Hatenkō Yūgi, lit. Unprecedented Game) is a Japanese manga by Minari Endoh. There have been sixteen volumes published in Japan as of October 2015. The series was being published in English in North America by Tokyopop, however, when Tokyopop closed, 10 out of the current 16 volumes were published in English. The license has not been picked up by any other company. An anime adaptation under the original title Hatenkō Yūgi aired in Japan between January 5 and March 7, 2008 on the Kyoto Broadcasting System and contains ten episodes.

Plot

A young girl named Rahzel is abruptly sent off to see the world by her eccentric, doting father. She is alone on her travels until she meets Alzeid, an attractive, mysterious loner on a mission to avenge his father's murder. After aiding Alzeid in retrieving his stolen gun from a thief, Rahzel decides to follow Alzeid promising that she would make his "lousy and boring" life "more interesting and fun!" Alzeid grudgingly acknowledges that Rahzel will be traveling with him from now on. Soon after, a womanizing acquaintance of Alzeid's named Baroqueheat joins in their adventure.

Song (airline)

Song, LLC was a low-cost air service within an airline brand owned and operated by Delta Air Lines from 2003 to 2006.

Song's main focus was on leisure traffic between the northeastern United States and Florida, a market where it competed with JetBlue Airways. It also operated flights between Florida and the West Coast, and from the Northeast to the west coast.

Song's aircraft were fitted with leather seats and free personal entertainment systems at every seat, with audio MP3 programmable selections, trivia games that could be played against other passengers, a flight tracker, and satellite television (provided by the DISH Network). Song offered free beverages, but charged for meals and liquor. Both brand-name snack boxes and healthy organic meals were offered. The flight safety instructions were sung or otherwise artistically interpreted, depending on the cabin crew. In addition to crew uniforms designed by Kate Spade, customized cocktails created by nightlife impresario Rande Gerber and an in-flight exercise program designed by New York City fitness guru David Barton, the airline created its own distinct mark in the industry.
