Jake Miller (rapper)
Jacob Harris "Jake" Miller (born November 28, 1992) is an American pop rapper, singer and songwriter from Weston, Florida, United States. He is signed to Warner Bros. Records.
On November 5, 2013, Miller released his debut album Us Against Them, which was promoted with a nationwide concert tour.
On May 7, 2014, Miller was labeled as the No. 1 Artist to Watch by FoxWeekly, predicting that Miller would be a huge artist by mid-2015. In 2014, Miller was also placed on MTV's Artist To Watch column.
Life and career
1992-2012: Early life and career beginnings
Miller landed his debut live performance opening for Snoop Dogg in Florida in 2011. In May 2011, he won the Samsung and T-Mobile USA national "Kick it With the Band" talent competition. As a grand prize winner, Miller was awarded $35,000 to use for his music career as well as a video with YouTube celebrity Keenan Cahill. This kicked off a whirlwind which saw him opening for Mac Miller and performing alongside Flo Rida, Sean Kingston, and Asher Roth at the "Think Pink Rocks" concert which benefited breast cancer awareness. In December 2011, Miller performed at the annual Y100 Jingle Ball concert along with Cody Simpson and We the Kings. He performed live at the Orange Drive "Miami Beach Music Festival" on New Year's Eve 2011, in which Jason Derulo, Cee Lo Green, Ne-Yo, Gym Class Heroes and Cobra Starship also performed. On March 11, 2012, Miller performed on both the Planet Pit Stage and Power 96 Stage at the "Calle Ocho Festival" in Miami, in front of an estimated crowd of over 200,000. In September, he performed with Austin Mahone and Sammy Adams at the "Y100 Pep Rally" in Miami. Miller has partnered with Big Time Rush for the song "Lost In Love" from the album 24/Seven.
