Day spa

A day spa is a business which provides a variety of services for the purpose of improving health, beauty and relaxation through personal care treatments such as massages and facials. A day spa is different from a beauty salon in that it contains facilities such as a sauna, pool, steam room, or whirlpool that guests may use in addition to their treatment. A day spa is different from a destination spa as no overnight accommodation is provided. In contrast, a destination spa offers similar services integrated into packages which include diet, exercise programs, instruction on wellness, life coaching, yoga, Tai Chi and accommodations where participants reside for the duration of their stay. A resort-spa may also function as a day spa, if they allow access to patrons who are not guests of the hotel.

Treatments

Treatments that may be provided include body massage, foot massage, facials, waxing, microdermabrasion, body treatments, manicures, pedicures, aromatherapy, moxibustion, ear candling, and guasha (scraping).

Spa (Sirius XM)

Spa, formerly Spa 73, is a new-age, ambient and instrumental music channel on Sirius Satellite Radio channel 68 (previously 73), XM Satellite Radio channel 68 (previously 72, where it replaced Audio Visions, which was XM 77) and on DISH Network channel 6068. Until February 9, 2010, it was on DirecTV channel 856.

During the 2011 Holiday Season (Tuesday 12/20/11 at 3am ET until Thursday 12/29/11 at 3am ET), Spa was replaced by Radio Hanukkah.

S.P.A. (automobile)

S.P.A. (Società Piemontese Automobili), was an Italian automobile, military vehicle and aero-engine manufacturer founded in Turin by Matteo Ceirano and Michele Ansaldi. It was active between 1906 and 1926. In 1908, it merged with Fabbrica Ligure Automobili Genova (FLAG) and the new company, Società Ligure Piemontese Automobili, was headquartered in Genoa while manufacturing in Turin.

In 1923 it moved to Turin and in 1925 was taken over by Fiat, whereby car manufacture ceased but commercial and military vehicle production continued. Although car production resumed after World War II, by 1947 the company was fully absorbed into Fiat.

Ceirano family background

The Ceirano brothers, Giovanni Battista, Giovanni, Ernesto and Matteo, were influential in the founding of the Italian auto industry, being variously responsible for : Ceirano; Welleyes (the technical basis of F.I.A.T.); Fratelli Ceirano; S.T.A.R./Rapid (Società Torinese Automobili Rapid); SCAT (Società Ceirano Automobili Torino); Itala and S.P.A. (Società Piemontese Automobili). Giovanni's son Giovanni "Ernesto" was also influential, co-founding Ceirano Fabbrica Automobili (aka Giovanni Ceirano Fabbrica Automobili) and Fabrica Anonima Torinese Automobili (FATA).

SPA (album)

SPA is the debut album from SPA and was released in 1997. The album was recorded over a three-year period and is dedicated to the memory of American comedian Bill Hicks.

Day (automobile)

The Day Utility was an automobile manufactured in Detroit, Michigan by the Day Automobile Company from 1911-14. The Day used a four-cylinder, 30 horsepower (22 kW) engine and shaft drive. Removal of the rear seat and doors allowed the car to be converted from a five-seater touring car to a light truck in one minute. As a truck, the Day was able to carry up to 1,000 lb (450 kg) in a 36-inch (910 mm) by 96-inch (2,400 mm) cargo space. The rear seat could be lifted away by triggering two spring locks. The Day had an advertised price of $950US.
