David Rudman

David Rudman (born June 1, 1963) is a puppeteer, voice actor. director and producer, best known as a performer of many of Sesame Street's Muppets. He originated the role of Baby Bear, and has been nominated for four Emmy Awards for his work replacing Frank Oz in the role of Cookie Monster. However, Oz still comes in to record new material with Cookie Monster occasionally, as well as Grover and Bert.

Rudman also took over as Richard Hunt's half of the Two-Headed Monster after his death, along with Sonny Friendly, and also he took over for Sully to Jerry Nelson's Biff, the construction workers. He has also taken over two roles once held by Richard Hunt: Scooter and Janice of Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem.

He is currently the executive producer of Jack's Big Music Show, and performs the voice of Jack. Rudman is also the executive producer, co-creator, and director of Bunnytown.

Rudman was the speaker at the 2005 graduation ceremony for the Illinois Institute of Art—Chicago.

He attended Highland Park High School and graduated in 1981. He has been a speaker at the school's biennial Focus on the Arts program since 2003. He attended college at the University of Connecticut. He has written and produced cartoons for MTV, Disney Channel, and Comedy Central.

David Rudman (wrestler)

David Rudman (born April 13, 1943) is a former Soviet wrestling champion, Sambo world champion, and judo European champion.

Early and personal life

Rudman is Jewish, and was born in Kuibyshev (now Samara, Russia). He later emigrated to the United States, and lives in New York.

Wrestling career

He was a member of the sport association "Dynamo".

In 1965–69 and 1973, he was the USSR Wrestling Champion at 70 kg. He was second in the USSR championship at 70 kg in 1970–72, and third in 1974.

Sambo career

In 1967, he was the Champion of the first International Sambo Tournament, at 70 kg. Rudman describes sambo as "is a combination of many forms of martial arts, designed to give Soviet soldiers the edge in combat fighting". In 1973, he was the first World Champion in the weight category up to 68 kg. He is a six-time USSR sambo champion.

Judo career

In 1969, he was the European Judo Champion in individual competition as a light-middleweight (U70), winning all of his matches in Ostend, Belgium, ahead of Antoni Zajkowski and Czeslaw Kur of Poland, and Patrick Vial of France. He won a bronze medal in the 1969 World Judo Championships in Mexico City in the U70 weight class. In 1970, he was part of the European Team Judo Champion at the championships in Berlin, fighting in the U70 weight class.

David (commentator)

David (Greek: Δαυΐδ; fl. 6th century) was a Greek scholar and a commentator on Aristotle and Porphyry.

He may have come from Thessaly, but in later times he was confused with an Armenian of the same name (David Anhaght). He was a pupil of Olympiodorus in Alexandria in the late 6th century. His name suggests that he was a Christian.

Three commentaries to Aristotle's works attributed to him have survived: as well as an introduction to philosophy (prolegomena):

Another anonymous commentary on Porphyry's Isagoge which was falsely ascribed to Elias (pseudo-Elias), was also falsely ascribed to David.

David of Bulgaria

David (Bulgarian: Давид) (died 976) was a Bulgarian noble, brother of Emperor Samuel and eldest son of komes Nicholas. After the disastrous invasion of Rus' armies and the fall of North-eastern Bulgaria under Byzantine occupation in 971, he and his three younger brothers took the lead of the defence of the country. They executed their power together and each of them governed and defended a separate region. He ruled the southern-most parts of the realm from Prespa and Kastoria and was responsible for the defence the dangerous borders with Thessalonica and Thessaly. In 976 he participated in the major assault against the Byzantine Empire but was killed by vagrant Vlachs between Prespa and Kostur.

However, there's also another version about David’s origin. David gains the title "comes" during his service in the Byzantine army which recruited many Armenians from the Eastern region of the empire. The 11th-century historian Stepanos Asoghik wrote that Samuel had one brother, and they were Armenians from the district Derjan. This version is supported by the historians Nicholas Adontz, Jordan Ivanov, and Samuil's Inscription where it’s said that Samuel’s brother is David. Also, the historians Yahya and Al Makin clearly distinguish the race of Samuel and David (the Comitopouli) from the one of Moses and Aaron (the royal race):

David, Chiriquí

David (Spanish pronunciation: [daˈβið]) officially San José de David is a city and corregimiento located in the west of Panama. It is the capital of the province of Chiriquí and has an estimated population of 144,858 inhabitants as confirmed in 2013. It is a relatively affluent city with a firmly established, dominant middle class and a very low unemployment and poverty index. The Pan-American Highway is a popular route to David.
