David Alexander Hess (September 19, 1936 – October 7, 2011) was an American actor, singer, and songwriter.
Hess was born David Alexander Hess on September 19, 1936 in New York City. His mother, Marjory, was an opera singer.
In 1956, Hess recorded the original version of the Otis Blackwell composition "All Shook Up" under the stage name David Hill. The next year the song became a #1 hit single for Elvis Presley.
He began his professional career as a songwriter for Shalimar Music in 1957. He composed "Start Movin'" for Sal Mineo and "Rockin' Shoes" for the Ames Brothers. In 1959 he recorded a cover version of Cliff Richard's "Living Doll" for Kapp Records and it became a mild placed charter for him on the US Billboard charts. He wrote songs for Elvis Presley throughout the 1950s and 1960s, which include "I Got Stung", "Come Along", and "Sand Castles". "Your Hand, Your Heart, Your Love" became a 1960s hit when it was performed by Andy Williams. In 1962, Hess wrote and recorded "Speedy Gonzales," (as David Dante) which became a #6 single for Pat Boone in the US and a #2 in the UK, selling more than eight million copies worldwide. Hess then recorded two solo albums for Kapp Records, again topping the charts, this time with a Top Ten folk hit called "Two Brothers."
David Hess (29 November 1770, Zurich – 11 April 1843, Unterstrass) was a Swiss writer, caricaturist, and politician.
Hess grew up on a country estate, the Beckenhof, in Zurich-Unterstrass. His father, Johann Rudolf Hess, was a Dutch officer stationed in Zurich. His mother, Martha de la Tour, was the daughter of a French mining engineer. In accordance with his father's wishes, Hess pursued a military career from 1787 to 1796 as a Swiss Guard in Holland.
He was witness to the massacre at the Swiss garden by French revolutionary troops, which made him a decided opponent of the revolution. In 1796 David Hess returned to Zurich. He saw the invasion of French troops and the end of the Old Swiss Confederation while serving as a captain with the Zurich troops in Aarberg, but did not take part in the battle of Berne or the battle at Grauholz.
In May of the following year he married Anna Hirzel. She died in 1802 after the birth of their second child. In 1805 he married Salome Vischer.
Below are the players and rosters of the minor league affiliates of the Baltimore Orioles:
Michael Gabriel Almanzar Campo (born December 2, 1990) is a Dominican professional baseball corner infielder in the Baltimore Orioles.
Almanzar signed as an amateur free agent with the Boston Red Sox at the age of 16, receiving a $1.5 million signing bonus, the largest the Red Sox had given to an amateur international free agent at the time.
Almanzar struggled in his early years in the system but showed improvement with the Salem and Portland clubs in 2012 and 2013. He was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the 2013 Rule 5 Draft and was in spring training with the Orioles, where he was considered a contender to begin the 2014 season at third base replacing the injured Manny Machado. He then was diagnosed with tendinitis in his knee and placed on the 60-day disabled list at the end of March, beginning a rehabilitation stint on June 20 while appearing in nine games across three levels. Because Baltimore was unable to keep Almanzar on its 25-man roster, it was required to offer him back to Boston. The Orioles acquired Almanzar and Kelly Johnson from the Red Sox for Jemile Weeks and Iván DeJesús, Jr. on August 30.
Refrain: We come to share our story. We come to break the
bread. We come to know our rising from the dead.
1. We come as your people. We come as your own. United
with each other, love finds a home.
2. We are called to heal the broken, to be hope for the
poor. We are called to feed the hungry at our door.
3. Bread of life and cup of promise, In this meal we all
are one. In our dying and our rising, may your kingdom
come.
4. You will lead and we shall follow. You will be the
breath of life; living water, we are thirsting for your
light.
5. We will live and sing your praises. "Alleluiah" is our
