David Hart Dyke

Captain David Hart Dyke CBE, LVO, ADC (born 3 October 1938) is a retired Royal Navy officer, former aide-de-camp to Queen Elizabeth II, and former commanding officer of HMS Coventry, which was sunk during the Falklands War.

Biography

Background and education

Hart Dyke, a member of the Hart Dyke family, is one of four children born to the Reverend Eric Hart Dyke (1906–1971) and Mary Alexander (1915–2010). He has two sisters, Jane (b. 1936) and Sarah (b. 1946), and had a twin brother Robert, who was killed in a car crash in 1963. He was educated at St. Lawrence College, Ramsgate, Kent. His father served as a commander in the Royal Navy, before being ordained in 1953.

Naval career

Hart Dyke was conscripted for National Service in 1959, and served as a midshipman in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve. He then joined the Royal Navy and was trained at the Britannia Royal Naval College at Dartmouth, and served aboard the frigate Eastbourne, based in the Far East and Persian Gulf. He was commissioned as a sub-lieutenant on 1 September 1961, and was promoted to lieutenant on 1 January 1962, to command a Gay-class fast patrol boat based at Plymouth. He served aboard the Ton-class minesweeper Lanton during the Indonesian Confrontation in 1963, then as navigating officer aboard the frigates Palliser on fishery protection duties in 1963–1965, Gurkha in the Persian Gulf, 1965–1966, and Tenby in the Dartmouth Training Squadron, 1966–1968, before being appointed an instructor at the Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, where he was promoted to lieutenant-commander on 1 January 1970. He attended a year-long staff course before being promoted to commander on 30 June 1974 and appointed first lieutenant and executive officer of the guided missile destroyer Hampshire. From 1976 he served on the staff of the Royal Naval Staff College, then from 1978 as the commander of the Royal Yacht Britannia. He was made a Member of the Royal Victorian Order (4th class) (MVO) on 1 January 1980.

David Hart (born February 6, 1954 in Marianna, Florida) is an actor best known for his portrayal of Sgt. Parker Williams on the smash-hit television series In the Heat of the Night. He also appeared in numerous commercials including IHop Restaurants, Maxwell House Coffee, Coors Light Silver Bullets, John Deere, and GE. In addition, David has appeared in numerous films and continues to perform in theater around the country, most recently performing as Charlemagne in Pippin and Oscar in The Odd Couple.

Hart was raised by his mother, Jeanette Lassiter Anderson, in Panama City, Florida. His father Lloyd Hart. Jr. encouraged him to attend Chipola Jr. College (now Chipola College), where he received an acting scholarship, after seeing him perform in the play, You're A Good Man Charlie Brown at Rutherford High School in Panama City, Florida. Both his parents encouraged him to pursue acting as a professional career. He is married to Anne Tabor and has three children, one of whom is actress and comedian, Mamrie Hart. Anne Tabor, a former Co-Producer of post production in television, she is currently a Master of Divinity student at Unity Institute in Missouri and is on the ministerial path. Hart has donated his time to various charitable organizations, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Raised Episcopalian, Hart is also a member of the Unity Church.

David Liebe Hart

David Nkrumah Liebe Unger Hart, also credited as D.L. Hart, (born April 19, 1955) is an American outsider musician, street performer, sign and window painter, artist, puppeteer and actor. He is best known for his appearances on Adult Swim's Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!, performing bizarre puppetry and singing in a variety of voice characterizations. He is also known in the Los Angeles area for his role as a puppeteer on The Junior Christian Teaching Bible Lesson Program, a local public-access television cable TV program, as well as for performing with his puppet "Doug the Dog" just outside the Hollywood Bowl and Los Angeles Music Center after shows, where he is known to many concert goers simply as the "puppet man". He has also been known at times as David Hart, David Lieber Mintz, David Unger Hart, David King Liebe Hart and DL Hart.

Career

During an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, David stated he first developed his passion for puppeteering upon attending church Sunday school in his youth. He claims to have gotten his start in Hollywood performing with comedian Robin Williams and from making an appearance on The Gong Show in 1977. In 1990 he appeared on Golden Girls and in 1993 on Wings.

David of Bulgaria

David (Bulgarian: Давид) (died 976) was a Bulgarian noble, brother of Emperor Samuel and eldest son of komes Nicholas. After the disastrous invasion of Rus' armies and the fall of North-eastern Bulgaria under Byzantine occupation in 971, he and his three younger brothers took the lead of the defence of the country. They executed their power together and each of them governed and defended a separate region. He ruled the southern-most parts of the realm from Prespa and Kastoria and was responsible for the defence the dangerous borders with Thessalonica and Thessaly. In 976 he participated in the major assault against the Byzantine Empire but was killed by vagrant Vlachs between Prespa and Kostur.

However, there's also another version about David’s origin. David gains the title "comes" during his service in the Byzantine army which recruited many Armenians from the Eastern region of the empire. The 11th-century historian Stepanos Asoghik wrote that Samuel had one brother, and they were Armenians from the district Derjan. This version is supported by the historians Nicholas Adontz, Jordan Ivanov, and Samuil's Inscription where it’s said that Samuel’s brother is David. Also, the historians Yahya and Al Makin clearly distinguish the race of Samuel and David (the Comitopouli) from the one of Moses and Aaron (the royal race):

David, Chiriquí

David (Spanish pronunciation: [daˈβið]) officially San José de David is a city and corregimiento located in the west of Panama. It is the capital of the province of Chiriquí and has an estimated population of 144,858 inhabitants as confirmed in 2013. David Abraham Cheulkar

David Abraham Cheulkar (1909 – 28 December 1981), popularly known as David, was a Jewish-Indian Hindi film actor and a member of Mumbai's Marathi speaking Bene Israel community. In a career spanning four decades, he played mostly character roles, starting with 1941 film Naya Sansar, and went on to act in over 110 films, including memorable films like, Gol Maal (1979), Baton Baton Mein (1979) and Boot Polish (1954) for which he was awarded the 1955 Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award.

Early life

David graduated from the University of Bombay with a Bachelor of Arts degree in the year 1930. After a six year unsuccessful struggle to land himself a job, he decided to try his luck in the Hindi film industry by becoming a professional actor. During these years of struggle, he also managed to obtain a degree in law from the Government Law College.

Finally, on 15 January 1937, with the help of his close friend Mr. Nayampalli, a veteran character actor, he managed to land himself his first role in a movie. The movie was Zambo and it was being produced and directed by Mohan Bhavnani who was the Chief Producer of the Films Division of the Government of India.
