Dave Siegler

David Jonathan "Dave" Siegler (born May 31, 1961) is a former professional tennis player from the United States.

Biography

Siegler, who grew up in California, made the boy's juniors final at the 1979 Wimbledon Championships, which he lost to India's Ramesh Krishnan. He managed to qualify for the main draw of the 1979 US Open, but was unable to get past Keith Richardson in a first round match that went to five sets.

A valedictorian at Agoura High School, Siegler took up a full athletic scholarship to Stanford University in 1979 and the following year was a member of the Stanford team that won the NCAA Division One title.

During the early 1980s, Siegler competed on the Grand Prix tennis circuit, with his best performance coming in Cleveland in 1981 when finished runner-up, after beating Stan Smith en route to the final. He won two Challenger doubles titles, both with Robbie Venter.

In addition to his US Open appearance, Siegler made the main draw of three Australian Opens, in 1979, 1981 and 1982.

Yin Yang Yo!

Yin Yang Yo! is an American/Canadian flash animated television series created by Bob Boyle II (also the creator of Nick Jr. original series Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!) and produced by Jetix Animation Concepts. It is the third Jetix-original show. It premiered on September 4, 2006 on Jetix in the United States with a sneak peek airing on August 26, 2006. The show debuted on Jetix in the United Kingdom on February 5, 2007 after a sneak peek preview on January 27, 2007 while making its Canadian television premiere on Family Channel on March 25, 2007. The series is supplied with writers and animators' staff associated with Fairly OddParents, 6teen, Clone High and Danny Phantom. Head writer Steve Marmel, an anime fan, took an inspiration from various anime and anime-influenced shows such as Teen Titans and FLCL. stars two anthropomorphic rabbits named Yin and Yang, and their sensei-like panda figure named Yo, a master of fictional mystical martial arts called Woo Foo.

In 2007, the show was nominated for British Academy Children's Award by the BAFTA in the International category, but lost to Stephen Hillenburg's SpongeBob SquarePants. From its launch in June 1, 2011 to late 2012, Disney XD Canada aired re-runs of the series.

Dave is a television channel owned by UKTV, which is available in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The channel is available on cable, IPTV, Freeview and some satellite platforms. The channel took the name Dave in October 2007, but it had been on air under various identities and formats since October 1998.

History

UK Gold Classics and UK Gold 2

UK Gold Classics, UKTV's first digital-only channel, was launched on 2 October 1998 and was only broadcast from Friday to Sunday on Sky Digital from 6pm to 2am. Around this time UK Gold began to move towards newer programmes instead of older ones; the 'classics' line-up included a number of early shows, including some black-and-white programmes, which had been acquired in the early years of the UK Gold service. They also showed some recent shows from the main channel, but the main part of the channel was older shows from the early years of UK Gold. On weekdays, the channel was off air, showing a still caption of all the UKTV channels and start-up times.
