David Isay

David Avram "Dave" Isay (born December 5, 1965) is an American radio producer and founder of Sound Portraits Productions. He is also the founder of StoryCorps, an ongoing oral history project. He is the recipient of numerous broadcasting honors, including six Peabody Awards and a MacArthur “Genius” Fellowship. He is the author/editor of numerous books that grew out of his public radio documentary work, including three StoryCorps books: Listening Is an Act of Love (2007), Mom: A Celebration of Mothers from StoryCorps, and All There Is: Love Stories from StoryCorps (2012)–all New York Times bestsellers. StoryCorps’ fourth and latest book, Ties That Bind: Stories of Love and Gratitude From the First Ten Years of StoryCorps, was released in the fall of 2013 to coincide with the organization’s 10th anniversary.

Since 2003, StoryCorps has collected and archived more than 50,000 interviews with 100,000 participants. Each conversation is preserved at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress. StoryCorps is the largest single collection of voices ever gathered, and millions listen to StoryCorps’ weekly broadcasts on NPR’s Morning Edition and on storycorps.org.

Isay

Isay (Scottish Gaelic: Ìosaigh, pronounced [ˈiəs̪aj]) is an uninhabited island in the Inner Hebrides of the west coast of Scotland. It lies in Loch Dunvegan, 1 kilometre (1,090 yd) off the northwest coast of the Isle of Skye. Two smaller isles of Mingay and Clett lie nearby. The name originated from the Old Norse ise-øy meaning porpoise island. The island of Lampay is due south. The area of Isay is 60 hectares (0.23 sq mi).

History

The first recorded owner of Isay and its surrounding islets was Olaf the Black, the 13th century ruler of the Kingdom of the Isles.

In the 16th century the main house on the island was inhabited by the MacLeods of Lewis, and it was here that Roderick Macleod of Lewis ('Nimheach' - the venomous) implemented his plan to ensure that his grandson would inherit Raasay and the lands of Gairloch. He convened the two powerful families (names do not appear to have been recorded) of the time at Isay house for a banquet which he suggested was to inform them of good news. During the feast he invited each person present to accompany him outside of the banquet hall in order to inform them of this news. Upon leaving the hall the victim was promptly stabbed to death. In this way both families were wiped out.

Khalifa (album)

Khalifa is the sixth studio album by American rapper Wiz Khalifa. It was released on February 5, 2016, by Atlantic Records, Rostrum Records and Taylor Gang Records. It is his first album of original material since Blacc Hollywood (2014). The album features guest appearances from Travi$ Scott, Ty Dolla $ign, Rico Love, Courtney Noelle, Juicy J, Chevy Woods, J.R Donato and his son Sebastian.

The album was supported by the lead single "Bake Sale" featuring Travi$ Scott.

Singles

The album's lead single, "Bake Sale" featuring Travis Scott, was released for purchase and streaming on January 21, 2016. It was produced by TM88, Juicy J, Lex Luger, DJ Spinz and Crazy Mike. In December 2015, Wiz Khalifa previewed the track and then announced that it would be included on his album Khalifa. The instrumental for the song originally appeared in the song "Order More" by G-Eazy, included on his album When It's Dark Out (2015). Due to ownership issues, Juicy J recreated the beat on the song for Wiz Khalifa, along with the co-producers. On the chart dated on February 13, it debuted and peaked at number 56 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
