Dave Booth

David "Dave" Booth (born 2 October 1948) is an English former professional football player and former manager of Laos national football team.

Early years

Booth was brought up in Darton near Barnsley and attended Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Wakefield where he played rugby and cricket. Football was not played at his school. Dave joined Barnsley and made his first team debut at 19 years of age at left back where he played most of his career. He was later signed by Laurie McMenemy, later of Southampton and the England coaching staff, who was then manager of Grimsby Town.

Managerial career

David Booth became manager of Grimsby Town in January 1982 with the club at the bottom of the Second Division, following the dismissal of George Kerr. A late upturn in form enabled Grimsby to escape relegation, and good form continued into the 1982-83 season with Grimsby as high as 4th after two-thirds of the season. However, failure to win their last 14 games meant that Grimsby only narrowly avoided relegation.

Yin Yang Yo! is an American/Canadian flash animated television series created by Bob Boyle II (also the creator of Nick Jr. original series Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!) and produced by Jetix Animation Concepts. It is the third Jetix-original show. It premiered on September 4, 2006 on Jetix in the United States with a sneak peek airing on August 26, 2006. The show debuted on Jetix in the United Kingdom on February 5, 2007 after a sneak peek preview on January 27, 2007 while making its Canadian television premiere on Family Channel on March 25, 2007. The series is supplied with writers and animators' staff associated with Fairly OddParents, 6teen, Clone High and Danny Phantom. Head writer Steve Marmel, an anime fan, took an inspiration from various anime and anime-influenced shows such as Teen Titans and FLCL. stars two anthropomorphic rabbits named Yin and Yang, and their sensei-like panda figure named Yo, a master of fictional mystical martial arts called Woo Foo.

In 2007, the show was nominated for British Academy Children's Award by the BAFTA in the International category, but lost to Stephen Hillenburg's SpongeBob SquarePants. From its launch in June 1, 2011 to late 2012, Disney XD Canada aired re-runs of the series.

Dave (TV channel)

Dave is a television channel owned by UKTV, which is available in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The channel is available on cable, IPTV, Freeview and some satellite platforms. The channel took the name Dave in October 2007, but it had been on air under various identities and formats since October 1998.

History

UK Gold Classics and UK Gold 2

UK Gold Classics, UKTV's first digital-only channel, was launched on 2 October 1998 and was only broadcast from Friday to Sunday on Sky Digital from 6pm to 2am. Around this time UK Gold began to move towards newer programmes instead of older ones; the 'classics' line-up included a number of early shows, including some black-and-white programmes, which had been acquired in the early years of the UK Gold service. They also showed some recent shows from the main channel, but the main part of the channel was older shows from the early years of UK Gold. On weekdays, the channel was off air, showing a still caption of all the UKTV channels and start-up times.
