Dave Allsop

Dave Allsop is a Scottish game designer and artist for role-playing games and video games.

Career

Dave Allsop developed the role-playing game SLA Industries (1993); the Scottish company Nightfall Games was founded solely to publish the game.Wizards of the Coast later bought SLA Industries, but then returned it to Nightfall, who licensed it to Hogshead Publishing; in 2002, Hogshead closed down and thus SLA Industries returned to Allsop. Allsop was by then the flatmate of Angus Abranson, and they decided to form a new role-playing company in 2003 called Cubicle 7 Entertainment. Allsop started work on a new release of SLA Industries, but in the Fall of 2004 Allsop decided to pull out of Cubicle 7 to pursue other opportunities. In 2005, Allsop, with Adrian Bott, produced The Book of Unremitting Horror, a book of monsters for the d20 System, published by Pelgrane Press. Allsop returned to Cubicle 7 in 2007 as the SLA Industries line editor, which started releasing new books again in 2011.

Yin Yang Yo!

Yin Yang Yo! is an American/Canadian flash animated television series created by Bob Boyle II (also the creator of Nick Jr. original series Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!) and produced by Jetix Animation Concepts. It is the third Jetix-original show. It premiered on September 4, 2006 on Jetix in the United States with a sneak peek airing on August 26, 2006. The show debuted on Jetix in the United Kingdom on February 5, 2007 after a sneak peek preview on January 27, 2007 while making its Canadian television premiere on Family Channel on March 25, 2007. The series is supplied with writers and animators' staff associated with Fairly OddParents, 6teen, Clone High and Danny Phantom. Head writer Steve Marmel, an anime fan, took an inspiration from various anime and anime-influenced shows such as Teen Titans and FLCL. stars two anthropomorphic rabbits named Yin and Yang, and their sensei-like panda figure named Yo, a master of fictional mystical martial arts called Woo Foo.

In 2007, the show was nominated for British Academy Children's Award by the BAFTA in the International category, but lost to Stephen Hillenburg's SpongeBob SquarePants. From its launch in June 1, 2011 to late 2012, Disney XD Canada aired re-runs of the series.

Dave is a television channel owned by UKTV, which is available in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The channel is available on cable, IPTV, Freeview and some satellite platforms. The channel took the name Dave in October 2007, but it had been on air under various identities and formats since October 1998.

History

UK Gold Classics and UK Gold 2

UK Gold Classics, UKTV's first digital-only channel, was launched on 2 October 1998 and was only broadcast from Friday to Sunday on Sky Digital from 6pm to 2am. Around this time UK Gold began to move towards newer programmes instead of older ones; the 'classics' line-up included a number of early shows, including some black-and-white programmes, which had been acquired in the early years of the UK Gold service. They also showed some recent shows from the main channel, but the main part of the channel was older shows from the early years of UK Gold. On weekdays, the channel was off air, showing a still caption of all the UKTV channels and start-up times.
