Recall (bugle call)

Recall is a bugle call used to signal to soldiers that duties or drills are to cease, or to indicate that a period of relaxation should end. Outside of a military context, it is used to signal when a game should end, such as a game of capture the flag among scouts.

History

Like other bugle calls, "recall" is a short tune that originated as a military signal announcing scheduled and certain non-scheduled events on a military installation, battlefield, or ship. Historically bugle calls indicated the change in daily routines of camp. A defining feature of a bugle call is that it consists only of notes from a single overtone series. This is in fact a requirement if it is to be playable on a bugle or equivalently on a trumpet without moving the valves.

Recall (memory)

Recall in memory refers to the mental process of retrieval of information from the past. Along with encoding and storage, it's one of the three core processes of memory. There are three main types of recall: free recall, cued recall and serial recall. Psychologists test these forms of recall as a way to study the memory processes of humans and animals. Two main theories of the process of recall are the Two-Stage Theory and the theory of Encoding Specificity.

Theories

Austin Simonson theory

The Austin Simonson theory states that the process of recall begins with a search and retrieval process, and then a decision or recognition process where the correct information is chosen from what has been retrieved. In this theory, recognition only involves the latter of these two stages, or processes, and this is thought to account for the superiority of the recognition process over recall. Recognition only involves one process in which error or failure may occur, while recall involves two. However, recall has been found to be superior to recognition in some cases, such as a failure to recognize words that can later be recalled.

Destruction (2012)

Destruction (2012) was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) promoted by New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW). The event took place on September 23, 2012, in Kobe, Hyōgo, at the Kobe World Memorial Hall. The event featured nine matches, two of which were contested for championships. It was the sixth event under the Destruction name.

Destruction featured nine professional wrestling matches that involved different wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds and storylines. Wrestlers portrayed villains, heroes, or less distinguishable characters in the scripted events that built tension and culminated in a wrestling match or series of matches.

Event

The event featured the professional wrestling return match of both Katsuyori Shibata and Kazushi Sakuraba, two longtime mixed martial artists, who defeated Hiromu Takahashi and Wataru Inoue. The event also featured outside participation from freelancer Daisuke Sasaki, Kaientai Dojo representative Kengo Mashimo and Pro Wrestling Noah representative Naomichi Marufuji, who unsuccessfully challenged Hiroshi Tanahashi for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship in the main event. During the event, Kota Ibushi successfully defended the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship against Ryusuke Taguchi.

The Elder Scrolls

The Elder Scrolls is a series of action role-playing open world fantasy video games primarily developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. The series is known for its elaborate and richly detailed open worlds and its focus on free-form gameplay. Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim all won Game of the Year awards from multiple outlets. The series has sold more than 40 million copies worldwide.

Development history

Before The Elder Scrolls

Prior to working on The Elder Scrolls series, Bethesda had worked predominantly with sports and action games. In the six years from its founding to Arena's 1994 release, Bethesda had released ten games, six of them sports games, with such titles as Hockey League Simulator, NCAA Basketball: Road to the Final Four ('91/'92 Edition), and Wayne Gretzky Hockey, and the remaining four adaptations from other media, primarily the Terminator series. Bethesda's course changed abruptly when it began its first action role-playing venture. Designer Ted Peterson recalls: "I remember talking to the guys at Sir-Tech who were doing Wizardry VII: Crusaders of the Dark Savant at the time, and them literally laughing at us for thinking we could do it." Ted Peterson worked alongside Vijay Lakshman as one of the initial designers of what was then simply Arena, a "medieval-style gladiator game."

Destruction '11

Destruction '11 was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) promoted by New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW). The event took place on October 10, 2011, in Tokyo, at Ryōgoku Kokugikan. The event featured eleven matches (including one dark match), three of which were contested for championships. It was the fifth event under the Destruction name.

The event saw two titles change hands; No Remorse Corps (Davey Richards and Rocky Romero) won the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship for the first time by defeating Apollo 55 (Prince Devitt and Ryusuke Taguchi), while Masato Tanaka captured the IWGP Intercontinental Championship from inaugural champion, MVP. The event featured a surprise appearance by Yoshihiro Takayama, who attacked Togi Makabe after his match with Minoru Suzuki, setting up a match between the two for Wrestle Kingdom VI in Tokyo Dome. In the main event, Hiroshi Tanahashi successfully defended the IWGP Heavyweight Championship against Tetsuya Naito. Post-match, he was attacked by Toru Yano, who stole his title belt, setting up the title match between the two for Power Struggle.
