Darc Mind is an underground hip hop duo from Queens, New York. It consists of rapper Kev Roc and producer X-Ray.
Darc Mind recorded their debut album Symptomatic of a Greater Ill for Loud Records between 1995 and 1997. The duo released the single "Outside Looking In" in 1996. "Visions of a Blur," a track from the album, appeared on the Soul in the Hole soundtrack in 1997. However, Symptomatic of a Greater Ill had never seen the light of day until it was released on Anticon in 2006.
Darc Mind performed the song "Outside Looking In" live on KEXP-FM at Gigantic Studios on October 30, 2006. In the same year, the duo released Bipolar on Mindbenda Recordings.
Duffy antigen/chemokine receptor (DARC), also known as Fy glycoprotein (FY) or CD234 (Cluster of Differentiation 234), is a protein that in humans is encoded by the DARC gene.
The Duffy antigen is located on the surface of red blood cells, and is named after the patient in which it was discovered. The protein encoded by this gene is a glycosylated membrane protein and a non-specific receptor for several chemokines. The protein is also the receptor for the human malarial parasites Plasmodium vivax and Plasmodium knowlesi. Polymorphisms in this gene are the basis of the Duffy blood group system.
It was noted in the 1920s that black Africans had some intrinsic resistance to infection with malaria, but the basis for this remained unknown. The Duffy antigen gene was the fourth gene associated with the resistance after the genes responsible for sickle cell anaemia, thalassemia and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase.
In 1950, the Duffy antigen was discovered in a multiply-transfused hemophiliac whose serum contained the first example of anti-Fya antibody. In 1951, the antibody to a second antigen, Fyb, was discovered in serum. Using these two antibodies, three common phenotypes were defined: Fy(a+b+), Fy(a+b-), and Fy(a-b+).
A mind /ˈmaɪnd/ is the set of cognitive faculties that enables consciousness, perception, thinking, judgement, and memory—a characteristic of humans, but which also may apply to other life forms.
A lengthy tradition of inquiries in philosophy, religion, psychology and cognitive science has sought to develop an understanding of what a mind is and what its distinguishing properties are. The main question regarding the nature of mind is its relation to the physical brain and nervous system – a question which is often framed as the mind–body problem, which considers whether mind is somehow separate from physical existence (dualism and idealism), or the mind is identical with the brain or some activity of the brain, deriving from and/or reducible to physical phenomena such as neuronal activity (physicalism). Another question concerns which types of beings are capable of having minds, for example whether mind is exclusive to humans, possessed also by some or all animals, by all living things, or whether mind can also be a property of some types of man-made machines.
Mind is a mental health charity in England and Wales. Founded in 1946 as the National Association for Mental Health (NAMH), it celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2006.
Mind offers information and advice to people with mental health problems and lobbies government and local authorities on their behalf. It also works to raise public awareness and understanding of issues relating to mental health. Since 1982, it has awarded an annual prize for "Book of the Year" having to do with mental health, in addition to three other prizes
Over 180 local Mind associations (independent, affiliated charities) provide services such as supported housing, floating support schemes, care homes, drop-in centres and self-help support groups. Local Mind associations are often very different in size, make up and character—it is a common misconception that they all work to the same policy and procedural framework. Mind is a national brand but all local associations are unique, although they do all sign up to certain shared aims and ethical guidelines.
"Mind" was a single by Liverpool-based pop group The Farm, released as the first single off their second album Love See No Colour. It was released on 12 August 1991, having been produced by Graham "Suggs" McPherson of Madness. The single peaked at #31 on the UK Singles Chart.
Ahh, Darc Mind
Current state of affairs
What?
Yeah
Nowaday it profit from forfeiture, 'my kingdom for a whip'!
Brotha fixating, arm & legging for the celly that blip
Lexus, foreign liquors, Versace,.. they dominate the punchline
Intellectual crunchtime, I rhyme avoiding ghetto lunchlines, crime niggas at once chime
They buss-a-nut on fuss and death, listeners r shook, the average brotha? ain't too many mo' left
Craven images treasured, foul measures for sake of HEAD-BOP
Drug abuse inducements, aborted seeds out of wedlock
Edifices of krylon, streets of tri-colored di, piss & guiness run the gutter, streams of cheddar divide
Unruly this paradise where sabbath rarely heard & not seen-be blown into fist a prayer and jostled every 1st and 15th
Simple ghetto glorification, push the product fuck the people-s
Supply side economics and it's players sing the sequel-s
Grandmothers prayin' God listenin' too,.. now what-chu-gonna-do when time runs out on you?
[Chorus: x2]
Visions o' blurry, realism a gas,.. as crook & willie pass like sand thru the hourglass - Visions o' blurry, realism a sign,.. a quarter to and time I go for mine
Set off, I'll nigga PLY schizm to scheme
(As) heads (are) all in the midst of malt liquored wishes and collard green dreams
Mentals bust at the seams
A 'claim he down', 'the real one' just a single grain of sand amongst a muh-fuckin million
Niggas be charlatans all claiming they dope
Scores of imitators they spawn intoxicating that hope
'Til what remains of 'yes-y'all', 'mic check' and '1, 2-ing'
Be dead bodies in pools of urine amid blight and dope urban ruin
For as true as ABLE wickid once that lable did punish a man (nigger)
Salvation begs let he who hath that wisdom do understand
It's a battle for souls, chill while you can
Niggas is appendages of evil as if fingers on shatan's hand
Searchin, you're looking for the crux and meaning of
Illuminati, I'll experiment or maybe that a fiend above
Beaming, you're dipped in rhymes of cleaner love
Ya' go round the world and wake up hurling yet you still ain't seen enough
Rhymer republican, your demo-crap I regg
(Kevroc) itsasif I'm fightin upstream to spray eggs
See everything ain't all about clauses and effects
You gots to suffer, sacrafice THEN resurrect, resurrect.
[Chorus x2]
Be men that pay the bills you blaze? you're out of your curves?
On W-I, your lyric and actions speakin louder than words
You swerve a nerve and gaze murder to those who beat it unlevened
You're braggin Maxima's and Acura's to carry you to heaven
A.M. the marketplace I'm gon' say a rhythm
Rock a ruff rhyme and? kitten? be my horn player
Head ahead and sound for ingredients, I'll bring you some in form of rhyme
I'm whippin on return in time for pendulum
Kevroctula, Corectula The sight respective of fools
Kevroc selective, I guard my optimism like jewels
Clever directive, I shine while actually droppin these too
Got rhymes in hundreds like a package of Kools, rhythms of mackers who rule
Creativity be the highway high I stand beside
The thumb and funky beats hopin to ride it, grab hold and flow
I cut it divide it slip a twenty inside it fool ya bite it
See me claiming glory from astride it leave my crew delighted
Come hither skeptic of my ministry you doubt it commas
Kick a complicated like a Ministry while others vomit
G'n forgettin that I'm symmetry, them others aren't
Infinite production type funky?, house speaker warrant?
Harlem product and slang it body prove effective
Just a little while you're ghetto political incorrectness
Minds of many manipulated pawns of power
They be praisin they oppressor nowadays (nowadays) nowadays
