After signing to Okayplayer Records in late 2012 Danny! completed his trilogy of conceptual albums with Payback, cited by Allmusic as one of the best hip-hop releases of the year. Ebony Magazine has listed Danny! among other rising artists in their "Leaders of the New School" piece, calling Danny! one of a handful of "innovators";GQ would later reiterate the same regarding Danny!'s music production. I still remember your hand on my shoulder
I can still see the lines on your face
Sometimes it seemed we didn't have a prayer
But we had plenty of love to spare
And that is something time cannot erase
Father takes me on your knee
Father gives the world to me
Or anything he can
Make me a man
And restless blood beats louder than hell
Til you don't hear nothing but your heartbeat swell
And I can't deny the burning of
This restless blood
I jumped school, tried to get somewhere
He said, "Boy, it's a jungle out there,
And everybody wants a piece of you"
Now there's people talking, people trying
They're all selling, I ain't buying
Stand my ground
Like you taught me to
And restless blood beats louder than hell
Til you don't hear nothing but your heartbeat swell
And I can't deny the burning of
The restless blood
And restless blood beats louder than hell
Til you don't hear nothing but your heartbeat swell
I can't deny the burning of
The restless blood
And restless blood beats louder than hell
Til you don't hear nothing but your heartbeat swell
I can't deny the burning of
