Dangerous Danny Davis

Daniel "Danny" Marsh is a former professional wrestling referee and wrestler best known under the ring name Danny Davis when he worked for the World Wrestling Federation. For years he competed as Mr. X, a masked wrestler while also working as a referee. He is not related to Nightmare Danny Davis

As a referee, Davis played the role of a crooked referee that showed blatant favoritism toward certain wrestlers, with the storyline that he was eventually led to his removal as a referee. He then helped manage the Hart Foundation and began wrestling as "Dangerous" Danny Davis. He competed at several major WWF events, during which his team won a six-man match at WrestleMania III and advanced to the semi-final round at King of the Ring 1987. He was later reinstated as a referee and remained with the company until the mid-1990s.

Career

WWF referee (1982–1987)

Dan Marsh started out in 1982 in the World Wrestling Federation as a referee under the ring name Danny Davis. He also wrestled from 1984 to 1986 as the masked Mr. X, working masked so that the fans did not realize it was a referee in the ring. The Mr. X character was a jobber who won very few matches. He wrestled some of the WWF's top stars, including former WWF Champions Pedro Morales and Bruno Sammartino. He also participated in the 1986 King of the Ring tournament. He was given a bye to the second round but lost his match to Billy Jack Haynes. His biggest win as Mr. X came on the October 28, 1986 episode of WWF Prime Time Wrestling when he defeated fellow jobber Rudy Diamond.

Daniel Marsh

Daniel James Marsh (born 14 June 1973 in Subiaco, Perth) is a former Australian cricketer who captained the Tasmanian Tigers. The son of former Australian keeper Rod Marsh, Dan was a right-handed batsman and a handy slow left-arm orthodox bowler. He played for the South Australia early on in his career and played County Cricket for Leicestershire County Cricket Club.

Dan Marsh was a powerful striker of the ball and was capable of occupying the crease for long periods. He led the Tasmanians to just their second ever trophy when they won the 2004-05 ING Cup. He contributed a half century in the final. As Tasmania's stand-in captain in the absence of Australian Test cricket captain Ricky Ponting, Marsh led Tasmania to its maiden Pura Cup final win in 2006-07, and also captained the Tiger's to their third domestic one-day trophy when they won the Ford Ranger Cup in 2007-08.

Whilst Ricky Ponting was in effect the Tasmanian cricket captain from 2001-02 until he announced he was standing down on 21 November 2007, this was primarily a ceremonial appointment in order to have the Australian captain as Tasmanian captain as well. In effect Marsh, his Vice-Captain, has performed the captaincy duties on most occasions, and was appointed outright following Ponting standing aside. He retired from First Class Cricket at the end of the 2009-10 Australian domestic season.
