Dan Campbell
Daniel Allen Campbell (born April 13, 1976) is an American football coach and former player who is the Assistant Head coach and Tight ends coach for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for Texas A&M University. He was drafted by the New York Giants in the third round of the 1999 NFL Draft, and subsequently played for the NFL's Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints. Campbell was named interim head coach of the Miami Dolphins in 2015, and was hired as the assistant head coach of the Saints in 2016.
Early years
Campbell was born in Clifton, Texas and attended Glen Rose High School, where he was a tailback. As a senior he recorded 27 receptions for 423 yards and five touchdowns.
He played college football at Texas A&M. As a senior, he shared tight end duties, starting
games at the "B" slot, flanker and split end, registering 12 receptions for 143 yards (11.9 avg.) and 2 touchdowns.
Playing career
New York Giants
Campbell was selected by the New York Giants in the third round (79th overall) of the 1999 NFL Draft. In 2000, he became the team's starting tight end and was mainly used as a blocker. He was a part of the Super Bowl XXXV team.
