"Dame Tu Amor" (English: "Give Me Your Love") is a song recorded by American recording artist Selena for her second LP record, Alpha (1986). Lyrically, the narrator addresses her infatuation to give her his love as she is longing for him to do so with a kiss that ensures admiration for her. The themes explored in the song suggest solicit love. "Dame Tu Amor" is a ranchera ballad with cumbia influences. It was composed by Richard Brooks, Ricky Vela, and Selena's father and manager, Abraham Quintanilla, Jr.. Critics praised the song for its instrumentation and lyrical content and has since been in several compilation albums following Selena's death in 1995. "Dame Tu Amor" peaked at number 31 on the US Billboard Hot Ringtones chart in 2006.

Background and composition

"Dame Tu Amor" was written in 1985 by Richard Brooks, keyboardist for Selena y Los Dinos—Ricky Vela—and Selena's father and manager, Abraham Quintanilla, Jr. Selena was 14 years old during recording sessions for the song, and it was later included on her second LP record, Alpha, in 1986. The recording was arranged by Brian "Red" Moore, a family friend, and Ray Paz. Rolando Hernandez performed the guitar parts, while Vela used his keyboards to record the piano parts of the song. While additional vocals were provided by former guitarist of the group, Roger Garcia.

Dame Tu Amor is the second album release by Mexican performer Alejandra Guzmán. It was released in 1989 and included eight covers from the 60's and 70's.

RBD version

"Tu Amor" was later covered by Mexican pop group RBD. It was the first single released from their fourth studio and first all-English album, Rebels (2006). The lead vocals are sung by Christian Chávez.

"Tu Amor" debuted on On-Air With Ryan Seacrest morning show on KIIS-FM in Los Angeles.

According to writer Diane Warren and Media Base, the song was released to American radio on September 22, 2006. According to AMG, the single was released on CD in the United States on November 24, 2006.

The song became their first single to chart on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at #65. In Japan, however, the song hit #30.

The song was featured on the telenovela Rebelde, which was previously aired on TV5 in the Philippines.

Music video

The video for "Tu Amor" was shot on the beach in Los Angeles. MTV Tr3s premiered it on October 23, 2006 and it made its debut at number 6 on Mi TRL, aired on MTV Tr3s. The video also airs on MTV Hits. The video shows them on the beach having fun, and also having a bonfire. Fans noticed that there were only solo shots of Christopher in the video, not being shown with the others. This was due the fact he was not there when the rest of the group were shooting the video. His scenes were filmed later and included in the video.

"Tu amor" is a song written by Melvyn Gonzalez and performed by Luis Fonsi. It was included as the one of two new cuts on his greatest hits package Éxitos 98:06 in 2006. The song was released as a single to promote the CD. A music video was released in conjunction with the song. It became another hit for Fonsi. "Tu amor" has peaked at number-one on Billboard 's Hot Latin Tracks chart.
