Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

Ralph Dale Earnhardt, Jr. (born October 10, 1974); known professionally as Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Dale, Jr. or just Junior; is an American professional stock car racing driver and champion team owner. He is the son of NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt, Sr. He is also the grandson of both NASCAR driver Ralph Earnhardt and stock car fabricator Robert Gee, the brother of Kelley Earnhardt-Miller, the half-brother of former driver Kerry Earnhardt, the uncle of driver Jeffrey Earnhardt, the stepson of Teresa Earnhardt, and the older half-brother of Taylor Nicole Earnhardt-Putnam.

Earnhardt's success at Daytona International Speedway throughout his career, has earned him the nickname "Pied Piper" of Daytona. He is a two-time Daytona 500 winner, having won the race exactly 10 years apart (2004 and 2014), and has won the Most Popular Driver Award twelve times (consecutively from 2003–2014). He has an estimated net worth of $300 million.

He currently drives the No. 88 Chevrolet SS in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series for Hendrick Motorsports and drives the No. 88 Chevrolet Camaro for his own team, JR Motorsports, in select events in the Xfinity Series. He had previously driven the No. 8 Chevrolet for Dale Earnhardt, Inc. (DEI), his father's team.

Dale Earnhardt

Ralph Dale Earnhardt /ˈɜːrnhɑːrt/ (April 29, 1951 – February 18, 2001), known professionally as Dale Earnhardt, was an American race car driver and team owner, best known for his involvement in stock car racing for NASCAR. He began his career in 1975 in the World 600 as part of the Winston Cup Series.

Regarded as one of the most significant NASCAR drivers, Earnhardt won a total of 76 Winston Cup races over the course of his career, including one Daytona 500 victory in 1998. He also earned seven NASCAR Winston Cup championships, tying for the most all-time with Richard Petty. His aggressive driving style earned him the nickname "The Intimidator".

On February 18, 2001, during the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway, Earnhardt died at the age of 49 when he sustained a fatal basilar skull fracture after crashing in the race's final lap. He has been inducted into numerous halls of fame, including the inaugural class of the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2010.

Early and personal life

JR JR

JR JR, formerly known as Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., is an American indie-pop band from Detroit, Michigan, consisting of Daniel Zott and Joshua Epstein. Zott and Epstein met each other while playing in other Detroit music projects. They began recording in Zott's basement in Royal Oak, Michigan.

History

Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. was formed in late 2009 by members Joshua Epstein and Daniel Zott. The band also includes drummer Mike Higgins. The band initially began as a basement recording project with few intentions of reaching the public.

2010–11: Horsepower (EP) and It's A Corporate World

In July 2010, the band released Horsepower EP via Quite Scientific Records. The Horsepower EP consisted of songs "Nothing But Our Love," "Vocal Chords," "Simple Girl," and a cover of Brian Wilson's song "God Only Knows." The band came out with a second EP titled "My Love Is Easy: Remixes Pt.1" via Quite Scientific Records on November 2, 2010. Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. was noted as 'one of the best new bands' of 2010 and became very well-liked from various sources including Stereogum, SPIN, Under the Radar, Real Detroit, and The Metro Times. The band came out with We Almost Lost Detroit EP via Warner Bros. Records and Quite Scientific Records on April 21, 2011. Dale Earnhardr Jr. Jr. released two singles, "Morning Thought" and "Simple Girl" on April 8, 2011 and September 9, 2011 respectively.
