Daldøs [dal'døs] is a running-fight board game only known from a few coastal locations in Scandinavia, where its history can be traced back to around 1800. The game is notable for its unusual four-sided dice (stick or long dice). In Denmark it is known as daldøs in Northern and Western Jutland (Mors, Thisted and Fanø), and possibly as daldos on Bornholm. In Norway it is known under the name of daldøsa from Jæren, where, unlike in Denmark, a continuous tradition of the daldøs game exists. A rather similar game called sáhkku, using virtually identical dice, is known in a number of variants from the Sea Sami in Northern Norway, Finland and Russia. Otherwise, the closest relatives of this game appear to be the tâb games from Northern Africa and South-western Asia, possibly apart from one unlabelled diagram in a codex from Southern England.
Board
The board is boat-shaped and has three parallel rows of holes, two of which (A and B) have 16 holes each, while the middle row (C) has an extra hole in the prow of the ship.
First you gave me love
set my heart on fire
couldn't get enough
many took me higher
walking in the sun
feeling like I can't slow down
Now I'm standing in the dark
looking of the weepers
feelings sad apart
still I can hear your voice call
do I hear my name
I go into the night
Al right I get myself
he's back you just don't care
Only the rain can save me
it's all I have tonight
only the rain can save me
wash away the tears I cried
Now that we're apart
dancing with my shadow
I just bring my part
I have to play it solo
now could lost and found
I don't know where to run and hide
You all have your friends
people you can talk to
I'm just sit and wait
nothing there I can do
but I'm gonna fight
gonna be back no more
I want give up give in
I'm gonna to play and win
Than there come stormy weather into my life
and changing it for the weather
