Electrical work is the work done on a charged particle by an electric field. This energy is similar to mechanical work in that the equation for electrical work is of the same form:

q is the charge of the particle
E is the strength of the electric field
r is the distance

The electric field is essentially the force per unit charge, and hence by multiplying the charge by the separation between positive and negative regions of field, the work per unit charge is obtained.

It requires positive external work to move a positive charge into a region possessing a higher value of voltage. This is because external work is needed to be done against the field of the electric force. Similarly, it requires positive external work to transfer a negatively charged particle from a region of higher voltage to a region of lower voltage.

Under normal circumstances, positively charged particles that are free to move will always tend to shift towards the direction of lower voltages. In contrast to this behavior of positive charges, particles that are negatively charged tend to shift towards regions that possess higher voltage.

The electric work which is done by an electric field is independent of the path followed by the carriers of charge. There is no change in the voltage around any closed path; this fact is brought out by the observation that when returning to the starting point in a closed path, the net of the external work done is zero. The same phenomenon holds good for electric fields as well.

The fact explained above forms the basis of one of the most fundamental laws governing electrical and electronic circuits, the Kirchoff's voltage law. According to this principle, the voltage gains and the drops that occur around any electrical circuit loop is always equal to zero.

Work of art

A work of art, artwork, art piece, piece of art or art object is an aesthetic physical item or artistic creation. Apart from "work of art", which may be used of any work regarded as art in its widest sense, including works from literature and music, these terms apply principally to tangible, portable forms of visual art:

  • An example of fine art, such as a painting or sculpture
  • An object that has been designed specifically for its aesthetic appeal, such as a piece of jewelry

    "Work" is a song recorded by Barbadian singer Rihanna for her eighth studio album, Anti (2016). The song features a verse by Canadian rapper Drake. The artists co-wrote the single with PartyNextDoor, Allen Ritter, Rupert Thomas, R. Stephenson, Monte Moir, and Boi-1da; the latter is also the producer.

    Upon its release, "Work" received mixed reviews from music critics. The song debuted at number nine and has so far peaked at number seven on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Rihanna's 27th and Drake's 15th top ten entry on the chart. It has also peaked within the top ten of the charts in Australia, Canada, France, Hungary, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

    Writing and development

    "Work" was written by the artists, PartyNextDoor, Allen Ritter, Rupert "Sevn" Thomas, Monte Moir, R. Stephenson, and Boi-1da; the latter is also the producer. In the summer of 2015, Thomas, Ritter, Boi-1da and Martin Mason among others, stayed at Drake house in Los Angeles for a mid-week period. Thomas described the time spent at the home as a "beat factory, everyone was sitting there working and collaborating with each other." Thomas created a beat which was dancehall-influenced; he later played it for Boi-1da to which he positively responded, "We’re both Jamaican-Canadian. It was just something in our DNA, so it woke him up, and we started remembering all these old dancehall songs from the '90s." Boi-1da came with up idea for sampling an "old school dancehall rhythm" and after that the chords were made with Ritter and past it, "everything went organically".

    Buffy the Vampire Slayer is an American franchise which spans several media and genres. It began in 1992 with the film Buffy the Vampire Slayer, written by Joss Whedon and directed by Fran Rubel Kuzui, and was resurrected as the television series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer in 1997. The show's popularity caused it to spawn a multitude of Expanded Universe tie-in material such as comic books, novels, and video games, as well as a spin-off program entitled Angel. In 2007, four years after the television series' seventh and final season, Buffy the Vampire Slayer was officially continued in the comic book Season Eight.     Amanda

    Amanda is a Potential Slayer who appears in Season Seven, played by Sarah Hagan. A Sunnydale High student and member of the swing choir, she first appears in the episode "Help" as part of the seemingly-random stream of students showing up at Buffy's guidance office. Amanda was sent to Buffy for beating up another student who was picking on her. In the later episode "Potential", it is revealed that Amanda is in fact a Potential Slayer, and she aptly slays a vampire who threatens her and Dawn. Afterwards, Amanda moves into the Summers' residence, where she trains and becomes friends with her fellow Potentials. In the final episode of the show, "Chosen", Amanda is activated as a Slayer along with the other Potentials and battles against an army of Turok-Han vampires. She is last seen falling to the ground dead after her neck was snapped by a Turok-Han. She was the first Potential to kill a vampire and the first one to kill a Turok-Han.

    Sweet (Ken Mellons album)

    Sweet is the fourth studio album released by American country music artist Ken Mellons. Released in 2004, it contains the song "Paint Me a Birmingham", which was also recorded by Tracy Lawrence and released as a single. Mellons's rendition was also released shortly before Lawrence's. "Smack Dab" was previously recorded by George Jones on his 1998 album It Don't Get Any Better Than This.

    Sweet is a 2000 short film directed by James Pilkington starring Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt that is set in Camden, London.

    Overview

    Sweet is an early collaboration of the Mighty Boosh comedy duo Julian Barratt and Noel Fielding, and is featured in the extras of the Mighty Boosh series 2 DVD. It is narrated by Noel Fielding as Pete Sweet, and tells the story of his torrid relationship with Poppy, the imaginary sister of his friend Dave. After meeting in a club, the sexually adventurous Pete and Poppy go out for a while, until Poppy reveals herself to be pregnant and they cool it off. Pete then meets a real girl named Daisy, whom he immediately starts dating. Poppy later reveals that she was never pregnant at all, and Pete picks back up with her, dating both girls at once. His best mate Stitch is jealous of him, and informs Daisy that Pete is seeing another girl, leading her to storm into his flat to find him having sex with Poppy. He attempts to explain, but Daisy is "really understanding," and they start up a three-way relationship. Soon, though, Daisy seems to become rather too fond of Poppy, and they end up dating alone, without Pete. Furious at Stitch for ruining his relationship (as he sees it), he finds him in a bar and starts to beat him up. Stitch, however, reveals that he was jealous not of Pete but of the two girls, and that he had wanted Pete himself all along. The short ends with the two of them in bed together, Pete wearing his motorbike helmet, and Stitch a pair of nipple clamps whilst drinking from a bottle of whiskey.
