Miles (band)

Miles is a rock band from Bangladesh. Formed in 1979, the group currently consists of Hamin Ahmed (vocal and guitar), Shafin Ahmed (vocal and bass), Manam Ahmed (keyboards and vocal), Syed Ziaur Rahman Turjo (drums and percussion) and Iqbal Asif Jewel (guitar and vocal).

History

The first group included Farid Rashid (vocal and bass), Kamal Mainuddin (drums), Larry Burnaby (lead guitar), Ishtiaq (lead guitar), Musa (guitar), Robin (key board and vocal) and Happy Akhand (keyboards and vocal). Later on, others joined the band - Shehedul Huda (drums), Khayem (bass), Milton (drums), Mahbub Rashid (drums) and Schumann Zaman (bass).

In 1982, their first album was released in English, self-titled Miles including three original songs and xeven cover songs. Their first Bengali album Protisruti was released in 1991. It included 12 original Bengali songs. Second Bengali album Prottasha was released in 1993. In 1994, first CD of the band was released as Best of Miles. This was the first ever CD of a Bangladeshi band.

Miles (mascot)

Miles is one of two official mascots of the Denver Broncos, an NFL football team. He was founded on January 31, 1999, the same day that the Broncos became Super Bowl champions for the second time at the Pro Player Stadium in Miami, Florida. However, he did not appear in person as a mascot until 2 years later. Now Miles resides at Sports Authority field in Denver, Colorado. He is a regular at the Broncos' games but, unlike some football mascots, he also makes time for community promotions. One of his biggest roles is promoting the Broncos' reading program, "Read like a Pro."

The band was formed in 1995 in Örebro, Sweden. They toured the United Kingdom with Primitai in early February 2015 in support of their seventh studio album Devil Seed, released in August 2014.

South Devon Railway Eagle class

The Eagle class were sixteen 4-4-0 saddle tank broad gauge locomotives operated on the South Devon Railway, Cornwall Railway and associated adjacent railways. They were designed for passenger trains on this steep and sharply curved line but were also used on goods trains when required.

They were ordered by Evans, Walker and Gooch who were contracted to operate the locomotives for both the railways. They were designed by Daniel Gooch a development of his earlier Comet class with slightly smaller wheels and larger tanks containing 1,100 gallons, a 37.5% increase, and built by Slaughter, Grüning and Company.

From 1 July 1866 the locomotives were bought by the South Devon Railway, after which they were operated as a combined fleet over both railways, but they continued to be accounted to their original owner. On 1 February 1876 the South Devon Railway was amalgamated with the Great Western Railway, the locomotives were given numbers by their new owners but continued to carry their names too.

Gliese 205

Gliese 205 is a nearby red dwarf star of spectral type M1.5, located in constellation Orion at 18.45 light-years from Earth.

History of observations

A designation of this star, used in "Discovery Name" column of Table 4 of Kirkpatrick et al. (2012), is Strb. 1611. This name was taken from van de Kamp (1930). (The origin of this designation is not explained in these articles. Anyway, it is not Struve's 1827 catalogue of binary stars, since for this catalogue another prefix ("Σ") is used, for example, "Σ 2398", and real Σ 1611 is located in completely different part of the sky. Also, Gliese 205 is not a binary star. In the paper, published in Annales de l'Observatoire de Strasbourg in 1926 an object "N** Strasb. 1611" in "5^h" sections was listed, so, possibly, this designation relates to the Observatory of Strasbourg. Possibly, it is the "Catalogue de Strasbourge" of 8204 stars, published in Volume 4 of Annales de l'Observatoire de Strasbourg in 1912 — a part of international Astronomische Gesellschaft Katalog (AGK), made by various observatories by 1912. If so, then there are earlier designations).
