Digimon

Digimon (デジモン Dejimon, branded as Digimon: Digital Monsters, stylized as DIGIMON), short for "Digital Monsters" (デジタルモンスター Dejitaru Monsutā), is a Japanese media franchise encompassing virtual pet toys, anime, manga, video games, films and a trading card game. The franchise focuses on Digimon creatures, which are monsters living in a "Digital World", a parallel universe that originated from Earth's various communication networks. In many incarnations, Digimon are raised by humans called "Digidestined" or "Tamers", and they team up to defeat evil Digimon and human villains who are trying to destroy the fabric of the Digital world.

The franchise was first created in 1997 as a series of virtual pets, akin to—and influenced in style by—the contemporary Tamagotchi or nano Giga Pet toys. The creatures were first designed to look cute and iconic even on the devices' small screens; later developments had them created with a harder-edged style influenced by American comics. The franchise gained momentum with its first anime incarnation, Digimon Adventure, and an early video game, Digimon World, both released in 1999. Several seasons of the anime and films based on them have aired, and the video game series has expanded into genres such as role-playing, racing, fighting, and MMORPGs. Other media forms have also been released.

Digimon Frontier

Digimon Frontier (デジモンフロンティア, Dejimon Furontia), known outside Japan as the fourth season of Digimon: Digital Monsters, is the fourth television anime series produced by Toei Animation based on the Digimon franchise. The series is noticeably different from other seasons as the main characters, the Digidestined, don't train Digimon to fight for them but instead merge with ancient spirits (known as 'Legendary Warriors') to become Digimon themselves.

The series aired in Japan between April 7, 2002 and March 30, 2003, with an English-language version, produced by Sensation Animation, airing in North America between September 9, 2002 to July 14, 2003. It was the last season to use the Digital Monsters title as subsequent series, beginning with Digimon Data Squad, began using unique localized titles.

Plot

Long ago, a group of ten Digimon sacrificed themselves to defeat an ultimate evil that threatened the Digital World. These Ancient Warriors created artifacts from their data, the twenty "Spirits" (ten Beast spirits and ten Human spirits, one of each for each element), before leaving the Digital World in the care of the three Celestial Digimon. However, one of the three, Cherubimon begins a reign of terror. To counter this, the Celestial Digimon Ophanimon summons six children (Takuya, Koji, Zoe, Tommy, J.P. and Koichi) from the human world into the Digital World via the train-like Trailmon.

Digimon Adventure 02

Digimon Adventure 02 (デジモンアドベンチャー02, Dejimon Adobenchā Zero Tsū), commonly referred to as Digimon 02 and known as the second season of Digimon: Digital Monsters outside Japan, is a children's television anime series produced by Toei Animation. It is the second series in the Digimon franchise, which takes place three years (four years in the English dub) following the events of the previous season, Digimon Adventure. The series aired in Japan between April 2, 2000, and March 25, 2001.

An English language dub, produced by Saban Entertainment, aired in North America between August 19, 2000 and May 19, 2001. While succeeded by Digimon Tamers, which takes place in another continuity, the story will continue in Digimon Adventure tri..
