Dʿmt

Dʿmt (South Arabian alphabet: ; Unvocalized Ge'ez: ደዐመተ, DʿMT theoretically vocalized as ዳዓማት Daʿamat or ዳዕማት Daʿəmat) was a kingdom located in Eritrea and northern Ethiopia that existed during the 10th to 5th centuries BC. Few inscriptions by or about this kingdom survive and very little archaeological work has taken place. As a result, it is not known whether Dʿmt ended as a civilization before Aksum's early stages, evolved into the Aksumite state, or was one of the smaller states united in the Aksumite kingdom possibly around the beginning of the 1st century.

History

Given the presence of a large temple complex and fertile surroundings, the capital of Dʿmt may have been present day Yeha, in Tigray, Ethiopia.

The kingdom developed irrigation schemes, used plows, grew millet, and made iron tools and weapons.

Some modern historians including Stuart Munro-Hay, Rodolfo Fattovich, Ayele Bekerie, Cain Felder, and Ephraim Isaac consider this civilization to be indigenous, although Sabaean-influenced due to the latter's dominance of the Red Sea, while others like Joseph Michels, Henri de Contenson, Tekle-Tsadik Mekouria, and Stanley Burstein have viewed Dʿmt as the result of a mixture of Sabaeans and indigenous peoples. The most recent research, however, shows that Ge'ez, the ancient Semitic language spoken in Eritrea and northern Ethiopia in ancient times, is not derived from Sabaean. There is evidence of a Semitic-speaking presence in Eritrea and northern Ethiopia at least as early as 2000 BC. It is now believed that Sabaean influence was minor, limited to a few localities, and disappeared after a few decades or a century, perhaps representing a trading or military colony in some sort of symbiosis or military alliance with the civilization of Dʿmt or some other proto-Aksumite state.

Montana Democratic Party

Montana Democratic Party (MDP) is the affiliate of the Democratic Party in the state of Montana. The Montana Democratic Party is also one of the two major political parties in the U.S. state of Montana. The party is led by Chairman Jim Elliott (Trout Creek) and Vice Chair Nancy Anderson (Great Falls). The National Committeeman is Jorge Quintana (Helena) and the National Committeewoman is Jean Lemire Dahlman (Forsyth)

2008 Elections

Controversy arose late in the 2008 elections as the Billings Gazette reported Montana Democrats as breaking campaign disclosure laws. A report came out identifying Democrats as calling voters anonymously to attack the republican candidate Jack Sands.

2012 Elections

The 2012 elections were identified by prominent members of the Party as being one of the most important elections in the Party's existence. The Party wished to re-elect Montana's U.S. Senator in Jon Tester. In addition to re-electing Jon Tester, the Party hoped to retain a number of other offices. Jon Tester believed it would not be hard to get Democrats of the State to the polling booths in early November 2012. The Senator believes the results of the 2010 elections should be enough for Democrats to come out in large numbers this time around. During the election, Jon Tester was elected over his Republican challenger, and the victory by Steve Bullock meant that Democrats retained the office of governor after Brian Schweitzer was prevented from running again due to term limits.

Alprazolam

Alprazolam /ælˈpræzəlæm/ or /ælˈpreɪzəlæm/, available as the trade name Xanax /ˈzænæks/ among others, is a short-acting anxiolytic of the benzodiazepine class. It is commonly used for the treatment of panic disorder, and anxiety disorders, such as generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) or social anxiety disorder (SAD). It was the 12th most prescribed medicine in 2010. Alprazolam, like other benzodiazepines, binds to specific sites on the GABA_A receptor. It possesses anxiolytic, sedative, hypnotic, skeletal muscle relaxant, anticonvulsant, and amnestic properties. Alprazolam is available for oral administration in compressed tablet (CT) and extended-release capsule (XR) formulations.

Alprazolam has a fast onset of action and symptomatic relief. Ninety percent of peak effects are achieved within the first hour of using either the CT formulation or the XR formulation in preparation for panic disorder, and full peak effects are achieved in 1.5 and 1.6 hours respectively. Peak benefits achieved for generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) may take up to a week.Tolerance to the anxiolytic/antipanic effects is controversial with some authoritative sources reporting the development of tolerance, and others reporting no development of tolerance; tolerance will, however, develop to the sedative-hypnotic effects within a couple of days.Withdrawal symptoms or rebound symptoms may occur after ceasing treatment abruptly following a few weeks or longer of steady dosing, and may necessitate a gradual dose reduction.
