Cyberpunk

Cyberpunk is a subgenre of science fiction in a future setting, noted for its focus on "high tech and low life" aspects of society. It features advanced technology and science, such as information technology and cybernetics, coupled with a degree of breakdown or radical change in the social order.

Cyberpunk plots often center on a conflict among artificial intelligences, and megacorporations, and tend to be set in a future Earth, rather than the far-future settings or galactic vistas found in novels such as Isaac Asimov's Foundation or Frank Herbert's Dune. The settings are usually post-industrial dystopias but tend to be marked by extraordinary cultural ferment and the use of technology in ways never anticipated by its creators ("the street finds its own uses for things"). Much of the genre's atmosphere echoes film noir, and written works in the genre often use techniques from detective fiction.

Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 is an upcoming action role-playing video game based on the Cyberpunk series of tabletop role-playing games. Announced in 2012, the game is being developed by CD Projekt RED.Cyberpunk 2077 will feature a dystopian futuristic world in which ultra-modern technology co-exists with a degenerated human society.

Gameplay

The game aims to be mature and ambitious, with character customization being strongly tied to the plot. It will have a non-linear story with different character classes. It will have both first-person and third-person perspectives.

Lead writer Sebastian Stępień said the game will have non-player characters speaking in non-English languages.Player characters who don't speak the language will have to buy a translator implant to understand them. Stępień also said they would try to get native speakers to do the voices. Stępień has stated that "You can't reliably recreate [the] street slang of Los Angeles or some other American city; you can't simply dub it and reproduce those emotions, rhythm of speech, mannerisms... Otherwise we'd simply hear that Polish actors are trying to imitate Americans. That won't work."
