The Cruzados were a 1980s rock band from Los Angeles, California.
The Cruzados were formed in 1984 by the third incarnation of The Plugz, featuring members Tito Larriva, Steven Hufsteter, Chalo Quintana and Tony Marsico. They were picked as "the next big thing" by both their musical peers and music critics, and they received praise from the likes of Bob Dylan, John Fogerty, David Byrne, Brian Setzer, and Billy Joel. The Cruzados would record three albums for Arista Records but only two would be released.
The band's self-titled album, Cruzados, was released in 1985.
Following the release of Cruzados, Hufsteter left the band. He was replaced by Dino's Revenge guitarist Marshall Rohner, who would record on the second album After Dark, released in 1987. The Cruzados also performed the song "Don't Throw Stones" at the beginning of the 1989 movie Road House.
The band recorded one more album for Arista records that was never released (no title). The Cruzados went through many line up changes but the band finally fizzled out by 1990. About their breakup, Larriva said,
Cruzados is the 1985 debut album of Los Angeles rock band the Cruzados. It featured the band's "classic line-up" of Tito Larriva, Steven Hufsteter, Tony Marsico, and Chalo Quintana. It also featured the band's best known songs, such as "Motorcycle Girl" "Flor De Mal" and "Just Like Roses".
A brown-eyed money
She ran out of love
One more chance she said
If you love me baby pay the rent
Don't throw stones
You don't know
It's not what you say it's what you do
Don't throw stones
I'm in lucky with money
I'm twice as bad at work
If you love me buy me a big TV
You're good for nothing lazy junk
(Repeat 2 times)
Don't throw stones
You don't know
It's not what you say it's what you do
Don't throw stones
I'm no good
But you're no better baby
If you want to fight with me
You better send a little love
(Repeat 3 times)
Don't throw stones
You don't know
It's not what you say it's what you do
Don't throw stones
