Crush is the sixth album by Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, released in 1985. It was the first of two OMD albums produced by Stephen Hague, who had previously produced albums by Jules and the Polar Bears, Slow Children, Elliot Easton, Gleaming Spires and others.

"So in Love" (co-written with Hague) became the group's first hit single in the US. The album also sold well in the US. Aimed primarily at the US market, it is notable for moving the band's sound in a far more commercial direction, although elements of earlier experimentation are still evident on the title track, which is built around a tape loop of samples from Japanese television commercials, and the closing track "The Lights Are Going Out". A long-form video, Crush - The Movie was also released, showing the group talking about their career and performing the songs from the album.

In a 2013 online poll, Crush was voted the 23rd best album of 1985 based on the opinions of over 45,000 respondents.

Shin Hyo-seob (born May 3, 1992), professionally known as Crush (hangul: 크러쉬), is a South Korean R&B and hip hop artist under Amoeba Culture. He debuted in 2012 with the single "Red Dress".

Career

Crush made his official debut with the single "Red Dress" featuring TakeOne on December 7, 2012. In the following year, he released two singles, "Crush On You" and "어디 갈래 (Where Do You Wanna Go)" which featured Taewan and Gary.

He released another single in April 2014, called "가끔 (Sometimes)". He also collaborated with Gaeko for the single "Hug Me". In August, he sang "잠 못드는 밤 (Sleepless Night)" for the OST of the SBS Drama It's Okay, That's Love. He then released the song "SOFA" in October.

In 2015, he collaborated with Zion.T for the single "그냥 (Just)". The song was released on January 30, 2015, and debuted at #1 on the Gaon Singles Chart. They also won Best Collaboration & Unit at the 17th Mnet Asian Music Awards. In July, he released the single "Oasis" which featured Block B's Zico. He also held his first solo concert Crush On You from November 13 to 14.

Lillie McCloud

Lillie Arlene Nicole Jade McCloud (born December 7, 1958 in Rochester, New York), commonly known by her former stage name Nicole McCloud, or Nicole J. McCloud is an American dance and R&B singer. She has recorded four studio albums, What About Me (1986), Jam Packed (1988) (aka Rock the House), Love Town (1998), and So What? (2002). Her single "Don't You Want My Love" became an international hit. Other US singles include "Runnin' Away" and "Search'n". In the late 1990s, she was also part of a house music project Voices of Freedom.

In 2013, she competed in season 3 of the American singing competition The X Factor. She was eliminated in the 5th week, placing 8th overall.

Career

Solo as Nicole

McCloud first appeared on the Billboard US R&B charts as "Nicole" in 1985 with "Always and Forever". Her single "Don't You Want My Love" in 1986 reached Top 10 in the US Dance charts, in addition to charting in Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, and Sweden.

Ten of McCloud's singles landed the US Billboard specialized R&B and dance charts. As of 2013, her biggest hit has been the 1994 single "Runnin’ Away", which peaked at No. 3 on US Dance charts. In 2002 as Nicole J. McCloud, McCloud returned to the Top 10 with "Search’n", peaking at No. 5 on the US Dance charts. That same year she received a nomination for the International Dance Music Awards, along Craig David and Shakira.

The Amazing World of Gumball

The Amazing World of Gumball (known also as Gumball) is a British-American children's animated television series created by Ben Bocquelet for Cartoon Network. Produced primarily by Cartoon Network Development Studio Europe, it first aired on May 3, 2011. The series revolves around the life of Gumball Watterson, a 12-year-old cat who attends middle school in the fictional city of Elmore. Accompanied by his adoptive goldfish brother Darwin, he frequently finds himself involved in various shenanigans around the city, during which he interacts with his other family members—sister Anais and parents Nicole and Richard—and an extended supporting cast of characters.

Bocquelet based several of the series' characters on rejected characters from his previous commercial work and making its premise a mixture of "family shows and school shows", which Cartoon Network was heavily interested in. He pitched The Amazing World of Gumball to the network and Turner Broadcasting executive Daniel Lennard subsequently greenlit production of the series. It is the first series to be produced by Cartoon Network Development Studio Europe, and is currently co-produced with Studio SOI and Great Marlborough Productions. One unique feature of the series is its total lack of stylistic unity. Characters are designed, filmed, and animated using different styles and techniques (stylized traditional animation, puppetry, photo-realistic CGI, stop motion, Flash animation, live action, etc.)

Bass Armstrong (バース・アームストロング, Bāsu Āmusutorongu) is a retired professional wrestler and Tina's overprotective father. He is also the widower of Alicia Armstrong, who died of a disease when Tina was only six years old. He disapproves of Tina's aspirations of wanting to be a model (DOA2), a Hollywood actress (DOA3) and a rock star (DOA4). Consequently, he enters the DOA tournaments to put an end to her fame-seeking, only to fail at each attempt. In the fourth tournament, it is revealed that he intends to win so he would have enough money to enter the "Hyper Battle Grand Prix", which he then loses after seeing Tina's picture on a billboard and crashes into it after losing control of his bike. Like Tina in the English versions of the game, he, too, speaks with a Southern accent.
