Crown City, Ohio

Crown City is a village in Gallia County, Ohio, United States, along the Ohio River. The population was 413 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Point Pleasant, WV–OH Micropolitan Statistical Area.

Geography

Crown City is located at 38°35′25″N 82°17′8″W / 38.59028°N 82.28556°W / 38.59028; -82.28556 (38.590306, -82.285605).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.20 square miles (3.11 km²), of which 1.16 square miles (3.00 km²) is land and 0.04 square miles (0.10 km²) is water.

Demographics

2010 census

As of the census of 2010, there were 413 people, 176 households, and 129 families residing in the village. The population density was 356.0 inhabitants per square mile (137.5/km²). There were 200 housing units at an average density of 172.4 per square mile (66.6/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 98.8% White, 1.0% Asian, and 0.2% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.5% of the population.

There were 176 households of which 30.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.7% were married couples living together, 13.1% had a female householder with no husband present, 4.5% had a male householder with no wife present, and 26.7% were non-families. 22.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.35 and the average family size was 2.73.
